Seriously for me this is one of the BIGGEST issues for me right now. Now that all these new changes are going into effect my roleplay is at a constant mode and I forget the exact way my bothan's different personalities looks each time I want to go back to them. Please PLEASE I would like to be able to have my guild members know my characters different personalities by recognising their look each time instead of me constantly having to reintroduce myself. Self Master Image Designer timers were supposedly added awhile back but they never really were. I think I might know why too. The devs might have thought Image Designing would be the new Force Sensitive xp transfer well I am here to tell you you are WRONG. Seriously Image Design Force Sensitive xp conversion is 15:1 and it only gives you XP for Heightened sense and I already mastered my Force Sensitive trees in the senses area already by grinding ID xp in the tents. I didnt even have to grind xp that much neither with the constant stat migrations and dancing i did, not to mention the scout xp stacks up when you hunt baz nitches on Dathomir....maskscent just racks'em in and the harvesting is like San Fran Gold rush!
Please Please gives us numbers on our sliders and palletes and possibly give us the image_design setvalue commands back? Then I could make a macro that instantly edits me to a predesignated personality and also equips the appropriate clothing. THAT would OWN!
*whimper* pleeeeease
Techno can you help the devs see this? please? I like techno...see *bounces his head to the beat and does the whole glowstick thing* See Im cool now right?
Yeah man.... I'll fly with you and stuff...right?
(thats a really cool techno song BTW.)
Oh and the next big request from me is not only IDing vendors but IDing these new Actors! At least the ones who are SWG races already. It would be soooooooo awesome to be able to hire out some NPC bothans that looked like me, and I could match the look exactly with those nifty UI numbered sliders and all! *droools and creates a puddle that eventually fills into a lake and drowns himself. Dies. Gets reincarnated as a frog*

I agree with this. I think. Some of it. Maybe. That puddle of drool is so distracting I can't really concentrate on understanding all the jedi stuff above. And why does that frog look so sick? Is it crunchy?
The numbers were practical in their day, but I think what you're really asking for is a way to save an appearance, like a template. Since everything is numbers on some programming level, how hard would that be to work into the game as a feature? You can load and save stuff between SWG and notepad now, right? It would be kind of neat to save and name different looks, especially if you want to recreate yourself on another server.
I wouldn't agree that the lack of numbers is the biggest issue right now though.. but I agree it is an issue (I just don't see where all the numbers would fit in next to the itty bitty colour boxes).
Oh, and shame on you for asking for the imagedesign setvalue command! That's what brought the timers on us in the first place. Hush!

What brought tiemrs on us is image designers grouping with someone, eating spice.taking brandy (so there was no mind reduction) and then using those commands. I still think these image_design set values should still go in tune with the timers for image designing, but as I said I wanted to use these to quickly change my appearance template for my own character. As a Master ID I shouldnt have any timers when IDing myself

I don't understand you. The whole point of the imagedesign SetValue commands was to bypass the ID interface and the whole session procedure. At least that's how people macroed it. Sort of like this:
/im;
/imagedesignSetValue hair 67;
/macro IDgrind;
When using that macro you would instantly open and close the session and offer the recipient the short human female hairdo many call the "rave". All the recipient would have to do was press ok. And ok. And ok. And ok. Until his or her finger fell off or the ID grinder collapsed from moun withdrawal.
As you could set the value for most anything, eye_color, weight, and so on all you had to do was adjust your macro as you progressed to change whatever gave most experience. After a few hours of clicking like this and adjusting your macro a few times you would be a master image designer.
Apart from grinding this was a rather expedient way of instantly changing your own appearance if you preferred typing to clicking, and needless to say this was THE way to exploit the interspecies hairstyle bug.
To my knowledge the commands weren't stackable, though I might be wrong about this. If I'm right you could only change one thing about your appearance at a time. That was certainly the case for me. But it doesn't matter. The whole POINT as I said was to bypass the user interface, to save TIME.
Now you want to reintroduce a UI bypassing command line and combine it with timers? Huuuh? Do you want to instantly open and shut the interface and set a value for a change and then.. what.. wait for the accept button to be activated? I for one would prefer to keep the UI open and maybe apply some other changes while I was waiting. I can understand the desire to be exact when you apply your changes. If the devs added numbers to the new user interface then that should be enough to satisfy you in that regard. The old command lines belong in the past. Let them rest in peace.

You arent paying attention. I ama Master Image Designer. I dont need to grind. I want these commands to be avaialbe to Master Image Designers. So they dont need a UI to ID themselves. Timers for Every ID when IDing customers. For MID no timers on self...like we supposedly already have. I want these commands so I can change "MY" look on the fly. Not my customers and I think someone trying to grind with this will have a very hard time since they still have timers.
Read posts possibly? It helps....seriously

For the record the Species hairstyle bug was used using Image_design set commands but only when the Recipient would cancel the Image Design session then accept the next. They took that bug out...and it wont be coming back.
I dont want exploits. I dont want to create a macro for grinding. I want to create a macro for changing my own look...not my customers either. Still timers for them too and I'll use the UI with them as well as it is very effective in showing them what they want.

If I actually bothered to read your posts I wouldn't have an excuse to rant now, would I?
Anyway, I see what you want and I can sympathize. But why not take your request one step further? Add a "save look" feature to the UI and store the data on your computer in notepad format. Then you could store any number of looks for both your customers and yourself and you could name them accordingly. Obviously there would be a "load look" button to. This would be a great tool!
In theory, this could even be macroable if you allowed MIDs to type commands like /load IDTemplate "RoninsBadHairDay", and presto - you would get what you were asking for.
Now, if we could only persuade the devs to take a moment off from the GCW revamp and whatnot and pool their collective efforts into coding all this for us. I'm sure Technocan can persuade them that this issue is of the utmost importance.

The "save look" idea is a good one... but if nothing else, I'd like to get our numbers back on the sliders... & I still want a universal numbered color palette...
