Thread: Drop in customers?

I've noted a marked decline in customers in even this short time since the Galactic Civil War update.

I believe folks just can't be bothered going to a recruiter, going off duty, making thier way to a prisoner of style tent, getting a ID session, going back to a recruiter and going back on duty.

I can't say I really blame them either

I didn't think that faction mattered in ID transactions... or maybe they don't want to be shot in the face. Gah, nobody is willing to sacrifice for fashion.

Faction doesn't matter. Although I don't blame them for not wanting to be shot in the face...

I had a customer just yesterday that had made an appointment with my secretary (my alt on that server)the day before. We met in front of the Coronet starport where some Storm Troopers immediately started shooting at him (he's a Rebel Combatant). Since he wanted a makeover and did not need a stat migration, we exited this dangerous (to him, my MID is a Civilian) location and retired to the Coronet Hotel. This was a nice location... I sat in one of the comfy sofa chairs there and started the session. Since he was a Zabrak and was going from no hair to one of the horn styles with hair, we had to do 2 sessions (since the Zabrak Hair bug is apparently still not fixed... I could see hair color changes I made, but he could not). When we were done my customer payed me 20k (and asked if that was enough as he was poor... I love customers like these!). He then left very happy with the changes and later sent me a tell informing me of the reaction he got from some of his friends who were blown away with his new look.

The last one who tipped well I ended up having to ban from my shop and add to my ignore list due to his being a total smacktard. I'll miss his money but not much else.

Money is not everything... I don't play any of my chars for profit, I play to have fun... and smacktarts are no fun, not even with all the money some of them might offer.

Yes, but you can have fun with their money...

I'm a bit worried about the salons being located in what is essentially becoming a war zone, now that the heat is on. If I live on planet A and the opposing factions control all cities then I'm pretty much screwed if I want to have (or give) a stat migration, unless I go on leave of course, but even then I run the risk of being scanned and detected and gunned down in the streets. As long as the salons are the only places we can perform all of our functions we risk having our drop in customers becoming drop dead customers...

I think perhaps now would be a good time to introduce that player ID-terminal most of us wish for.

Yes! When are we going to get these? We were promised them when they introduced the salons in the first place! Haven't we waited long enough?

Actually, I noticed a drop in ID customers shortly after we received our publish last year. That is, once everyone tried out all the new hair colors and such. As far as lately goes, I've had an increase of /tells for ID work, even with numerous Novice/Master IDs working out of the same city.

Hehe, funny you should mention this - I was recently informed that my Master ID has been running around as a Spec-ops for the last few days. I had no clue. No has attacked me except for one person in the star port who immediately peaced out when he realized I was an unbuffed ID carrying a Kloo Horn.

:brandishes Kloo Horn threateningly

So apparently not eveyone is willing to sacrifice style for the war effort. Im tempted to stay Spec-ops just to see how long I last. /grin One person on Wanderhome who accidently ran me over with his AV-21 screamed "Nooo! I just ran over half the Master IDs in the galaxy!!" and appologized profusely. Taking this into consideration I might actually last quite a while!

My guild laughed at me when I told them that I had run past the guy who was attacking me and thought "Wow, thats the weirdest looking Imperial NPC I've ever seen." And also that I had written off the red dots on my radar as crazed durnis (they infest Coronet). So I ask you - what IS the difference between a PvPer and a crazed durni??

I logged in to find myself a Combatant. I guess this means that the NPCs can cut me to ribbons, but the players cannot. I actually found it very fun to play 'avoid the stormtroopers' when trying to get to the salons.

As far as a drop in customers goes, business has dropped off a little. I have a rather healthy sum of credits saved in the bank, and if I want to do ID work, I just hover around the busiest salons on the server. I've also offered to help Novice IDs grind skills. THAT never fails to bring in the customers.

Honestly, I don't mind the drop off in business too much. I can leave my MID tag up, and people still use the search feature to find me. I'm also finding that most of my customers lately are much better behaved and are tipping very well. I feel appreciated, but not overworked.
