Hey there,

Just starting out and I wanted to try ID'ing myself to get the hang of things. However when I target myself and use the /imagedesign command, I get the GUI, but the choices are greyed out.

I am a Mon Cal Male, does that have anything to do with it?

Well, certain race changes are limited to certain skill levels. I'm not exactly sure what you define as 'just starting out', but most low level skills seem to be geared towards humans, the more exotic race changes come only as you advance in skill level. So it may well be that since mon calamari have neither hair, nor eyebrows, nor colored lips, you'll have to work on humans for now.

Unfortunately, low level IDing is rather race-specific. Non-humanoid races can't practice on themselves until they reach a skill level that allows them to affect something they actually have. It'd be nice if it wasn't this way, but I can't really think of a way to solve that without giving advanced ID options to simple ID skills, which just doesn't make sense.

If you want to practice ID, to get a feel for it, you should find a human or zabrak that will let you play around with their features. As a mon calamari, your options are about as limited as a wookie's.
