Thread: About the possibility of a new ID Correspondent?
I don't mean to come off as overly grumpy or impatient...even tho' I am!
And I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. And I honestly don't mean to sound insulting. But I am concerned.I could be mistaken but it truly feels as thoughour current correspondent doesn'thave enough time to spend on representing us. I for sureknow she's not taking any time to encouragediscussion or participate in anydiscussions on our board here. I understand that if there's no news there's no news. But I get the feeling that our current correspondentisn't even around to spend timebeing a squeeky wheel inside the Correspondent forum. Andfrankly this profession strikes me as one that will continue to be left in the dust if we don't have a representative that's VERY active with trying to keep us ona front burner.
I know that Thunderheartposted that he'slooking into all the professions right now andthat he'll soonbe commenting on the various concerns players have regarding their professions. And franklyI get the feeling there isn't even anyone in there batting for us and getting our voices heard in the Image Design Correspondent Forum. If I'm totally out my hiney on this then I'd love to know. And someone can feel free to set me straight on all this. But if there's any truth to what I'm saying then I think it's time to consider finding someone new to represent us.
That said, I have no idea whomay or who may not be interested in taking the helm on Image Design Correspondent. I can only suggest that if you are interested that youwrite an email to theappropriate party and state that you'd like to be considered. As far as I'm concerned, for sure a couple of names come to mind, but I don't think I can come up with anyone else who is more enthusiastically and consistently involved with Image Design topics than Kwee.I'd feel sure that we were well represented with Kwee going to bat for us as a correspondent, that is if you're up for it andwould agree to do it, Kwee.Andif you are then I'd like to know how to get that ball rolling.
I hope everyone will take this in the spirit inwhich it's intended. I truly don't wish to create any hard feelings. I'm just concerned. I really think we need someone who's got more time, energy and devotion representing us here.
MoonLilly, I am honored by your vote of confidence. I applied for the position when it was announced a few months agoand would certainly jump at theopportunity to represent my favorite profession if it were ever offered in the future
Hey! There ya are, Kwee.
I mean every word of it. I think you'd make a great representative for us. And I'd love to see yougranted access to the Correspondent Forum and going to bat for us in thereasap.
What's the best way to getthe attention we need for getting a new correspondent installed?Anyone have any ideas? Is Q the one to message in order to let people knowwe need someone new? Is there anyone else we should message?
Okay...Well, I've gone ahead and sent a PM to Q asking that he please look into posting about our need fora new Image Designer Correspondent. I'm hoping the message went through. It's hard to tell the boards are so whacked today and the message got hung up for awhile as I tried to send it.
I've no idea how the majority of folks who frequent thisforum are feeling about our lack of representation when it comes to having an active correspondent, but it's bummin' me.Honestly no offense intended to the current correspondent who's name escapes me. I'm sure you've come to realize at thispoint that you don't have as much time for this as you might have thought you would.
I'd like to encourage others, if you're at all concerned that Image Design is likelybeing left behindin discussions that take place in the Correspondent Forum, that you PM Q and tell him it's time we installed a new Image Design Correspondent.
And again, ifI'm mistaken in my perception of things here, and our current correspondent is a strong voice for usin the privatecorrespondentforum, andjust a very quiet and absentvoice in this open forum, then I do apologize. It's just that from where I'm sitting there's no way to know. And I'd rather not take the chance that we'llcontinue to be invisible in that correspondent forum.
Thanks.
Well, it would sure be nice to have someone as knowledgeable and as genuinely interested and dedicated to the profession, as Kwee is, representing us in the correspondent forum.
I hope wheels are spinning that will getyou inthere pretty soon, Kwee!

That's most of the problem with my lack of posting right now. But I will work on being more active here, regardless of the lack of news.
Hello, Rilawyn. I'm sorry it took this much of a fuss to get you to show up here.
Under the circumstances I thinkit would be bestforany interested partiesto private message ThunderHeart about this whole issue and let him know how you feel and what you think. I'm still very interested in having a new correspondentassigned to thisforum. I have no personalagenda to fill here. I have no one's back to scratch. I have no reason to just out of the blue start picking on you, Rilawayn. This has all come from my sincere wish to have the best correspondent possible representing us here. And I'm sorry, but I just don't think you're that person. Andfrom the looks of things I'm not the only one feeling this way.
Suddenly showing up and saying thebiggest reason you're never here is because a dev hasn't given you any newsfor us, and suddenly attaching your name to threads as though you'vesprouted someinterest, isn't gonna do it for me.I really don't thinkthat in my mind you could come up with avalidreason for your never being hereand neverhaving anything to say to us.My guess isthe dev's aren't in daily contact with all the other profession correspondents, offering them juicy tid bits of info all the time. Yet they manage to keep in touch and interact with the players they represent.
I feel it's too little to late here, Rilawyn.I don't think you can justexpect to pick upfrom where your interest seemed to havefallen off so long ago and continue onlike there isn't a problem. In a nutshell, I feel that if you can't, for the sake of what's best forID and this forum, bring yourself to pass the torch, then I think it should be left to ThunderHeart and others to figure out how this is all going to go.
I dunno. I just can't believe this could be a big shock to you. I would find it hard to believe that you, yourself, think that you've done a verygood job, or the bestjob you could have done,as ourcorrespondent here.
