I think we as image designers should be able to have a seperate mini screen while image designing someone. Its very difficult to place yourself just right so you can see the person's face you are image designing. You have to get the lighting just right and if they move you need to do it all over again. The lighting in the game isnt all that great to begin with, and when you are trying new looks on people it makes it difficult to see the results....maybe we can do something about this???

I'd love this. As is, the only way to get halfway decent lighting is to go outside and ask the customer to sit down as well, so you're on the same level as their face.

I find there are one or two good light sources in the side rooms of the cantinas.

Another way is to stand very close behind your customer, zoom out a little way in third person and adjust the view until you can see clearly...if you use your personal light you should no longer have those horrific shadows on their face.

The height thing, if you can, adjust your height to the same as your customer. After you've adjusted your height kneel and stand again, this resets your point of view in first person to the new height. In first person you should now have a good view of their face.

That's a good workaround to know I left myself way too short one time after tyring to get a good look at a short client, and logged out like that. It was so annoying craning my neck to see everything the next day hehe, I just waited it out.

I've forgotten to make myself taller afterwards as well, couldn't figure out why I felt like I was scurrying everywhere.

A good, well-lit place is the back rooms of the city cantinas. It's away from all other people, it has nice lighting, and it's completely clear of chairs/tables/whatever else. I've also found that with turning on the personal light and then zooming into first person, it's pretty easy to find a good position that highlights every feature of the person's face.

Although... my character is really short. Hehe. So what works for me might not work for anyone else.

Well you have all confirmed my point. We needa seperate screen that comes up...kinda like when you examine an item or a person...but a close up of their face if thats what you are working on. I would love to see this happen so we dont have to go throught the "dance" of placing ourselves in just the right position. If anyone who matters reads this...please help us out!!!!!!
