Thread: how I mastered ID in under 2 hours (not an exploit)

I was reading the FAQ here and saw that people seem to think it takes at least 6 hours or so to master ID. I'm here to tell you I did it in less than two, without cheating.

I spent an hour of this time learning how to ID, coming up with good macros, and getting through the 4 ent boxes. going through the ent ID boxes I used a total of two muon golds with this macro:

/image;/imagedesignSetValue eyeshadow 0;/pause 1;/ui action toolbarSlotxx;

this is a loop macro, goes through all your mind pretty quick unless you got the gold (and a fishak surprise is good too). I used this to get through ent ID, but that's nothing special.

starting at novice ID I decided to get a musician buff to use in conjunction with my muon gold. boy does that make a difference. I switched to this macro:

/image;/imagedesignSetValue cheeks 0;/pause 1;/ui action toolbarSlotxx;

my base focus was 500, so with gold and buffs my focus was 1500. the cheeks mod is worth 125xp and with the buffs and gold cost 6 mind, so I could do it indefinately until the gold wore off.

it took me 1 muon gold per full tree (1-4), as you all know, a muon gold lasts 10 min, and downer for 3 min, so it took less than an hour to go from novice ID to master ID.

well, that's it. no exploits, just a little common sense and use of the resources available. hope that helps somebody.

If the musicians are AFK, then just get an invite into the Ent group and listen to the musicians to get a passive buff. Personally, I always tip them for this even if they are AFK.

not sure if this is the right posting to ask this but:

When I setup the exact same macro format

for some reason my macro stops on the first screen "select type'.

In other words, my macro loop doesn't work and just keeps saying "you are in a current image session" and waits for me to click on 'hair, body,...' etc. screen...shouldn't the next statement force it along?

I copied and pasted an image designers macro to the letter but I always get the first imaging type selection screen and it forces me to click on the type....

any help is greatly appreciated.

I helped some guy go from novice entertainer, to master ID in about an hour. I'm a master musician so I buffed him and he hit that fish stuff and muon gold. We sat next to the ID trainer. He paid me 100k

I never could find a musician or dancer to buff me, they were all always afk, so it took me 5 hours

I wouldn't recommend taking the pause out. Instead shorten it to something like 0.5. In practice, any number smaller than your ping and your target's ping time added together is useless as you'll never be able to click accept that fast. (So basically, 0.2 is the theoretical smallest number that is useful. If you are on a dialup, 0.5 is probably more reasonable, and will save you a little bandwidth, too.)

Also, NEVER change targets while doing this. That is what causes the bug where nobody can image design someone. When you change targets, it sends the imagedesign to the first player, but the actual change to yourself or the new target, so the second clicks accept or refuse, and the first never completed the request.

I didn't have a pause in the macro when I ground from novice to master. you just stack up error spam until they hit accept, but nothing bad happens. this way you get it done just as fast as the other person can click.

also while running this macro I occasionaly targeted the ID trainer without stoping the macro, so I could train a new skill, then switch back. didn't 'cause the bug for me.

i masterd it over 24 hours (about 3 playing time) did ID 1-3 by acutally clicking...

with that macro... take 1 muon... and 2 MIND FOOD (forgot what it was called, but it only affects mind) but with those, you lose NO MIND AT ALL!!! so thats when i put in my looping macro and WA LA!!!

each time you go up a tree though i suggest you experiment on which ID gets you the most XP per ID, so keep checking at each lvl

It depends on the timing of how you click it. If you're doing it while the accept window is up no bad effects.

As to without the pause... As I said it's a matter of bandwidth. Also, I have seen ill effects on the server from doing that macro without a pause. (Caused everyone in the cantina to go major laggy) They may have fixed that though.
