My experience with the new timer has been nothing but great! I IDed myself and some guildmates yesterday and by the time I got it just right the timer had expired! The only time the timer gets annoying is when someone wants to recharge their holoemotes. Also, when IDing myself I just pressed [alt] and went back to slicing.
