Thread: Well that wasn't very fun. :(
Wow! that was not tthe norm for last night, i suggest you try again. You gave-up to easy.
I only had limited time last night, but managed4 IDs, all full IDs. on three of them I changed 20k plus they all all wanted to try Holo-emote and a sold all of them the "all" for 5k each. The last one I did was very nice and I don't not have time to finish so I only charge her 10k and she was very happy about that.

I might try again with a pricelist up front, but if you read another thread, at least in the Theed tent there were master IDs yelling that they were IDing for free! Maybe I will try in a less crowded tent.
The majority of people I ID'ed yesterday were very nice and exited. I wasn't having a set prize going yesterday as I was having too much fun, but still received tips all from 5k to 50k and made a little fortune. Give it another go.
I am sorry to hear that it was such a bad experience for you Gyopi. There will always be players/ customers who won't appreciate your service, but don't let these things discourage you! I am playing my second character as a Master ID just because I like to interact with people, it's a great way to make new connections in-game.
The few hours I got to play after the patch, were very exciting and I decided to work on tips, just to get an idea what people are willing to pay for the new enhancements. The lowest I got was 5k for a new haircut / color and the highest was more then 40k for some cosmetic changes and all the holo-emotes. I think you just had bad luck choosing your first customer. ![]()

I agree with Sir Voor, friend.

I might try again in the time I have between running my tailor shop. I will probably try Coronet or Moenia, though. Its not like I haven't made any money at it. So far I have made about 1.5 million as an image designer working from my shop, just from people who are so happy at the whole "package" that they have tipped me an extra 100K or two. A good group of people in the tent could be fun for a little while, though.
I suggested to someone who asked why I was charging and he wasn't that "I am a hairdresser in real life and a damn good ID. You get what you pay for..." He laughed and said that he'd be sticking with me, no matter how much I charged.
An interesting side effect of the 10 minute stat migration wait is that I had several customers actually start conversations with me! Some of them even roleplayed!!
The tent was fun and brought in the curious. They saw how much fun we were having with the wild colors and holoemotes and ended up buying services as well. I didn't think I'd like the tent, but I have to admit that it was more fun than I've had as a master ID in quite a while.
Try doing some entertainer missions and see how long it will take you to be able to actually afford some of the insanely high prices ID's are asking.
Not everyone is able to easily afford tens of thousands. Granted 8k isn't a whole lot, but it can be too much for many. *shrug* Not everyone is able to do these 8-35k destroy missions.
I need an edit option lol. Instead of running off tho, it would have been better if the guy at least tried to haggle with the price or explain why it would be too much exactly.
Too many times people do assume that since it dídn't cost anything, they don't have to pay anything. My dancer buffs for tips, and not everyone tips. My novice doc when in a good mood will heal people's wounds. Its not the way to make money, yet it should be. People just seem to take these things for granted, which is sad.

Most of us don't charge the same amount for everyone and we judge whether the person can afford regular prices or not. I usually give entertainers steep discounts and do some work for free because I know it is hard to be an entertainer! Its the same for newbies. Someone with one of those 500K-1000K geonosian pistols in their hand is probably not going to get a discount, though. The same thing with someone who has a title like "Master Armorsmith" of their head. Its not that I have anything against these people, but I should be able to get the full amount from someone who can obviously afford it.
