Thread: I want feedback on a possible solution to the ID tent issues.

Riiiiiiight... and how would you avoid the "empty vendor" syndrome? Try to think about players other than yourselves when considering things like this. You think you're pissed off when you're trying to track something down and you find an empty vendor? Try tracking down a service rendered from a LIVE PLAYER who is not there. Are you gonna register every time you're online, in your house, waiting for a customer to walk in the door? What about the other 90% of the time?

Not if the name of the person registering was listed on the map too. Then you just send that person email or a tell asking if they are at their shop.
We currently possess this functionality ingame. It's called Character Search. If said person doesn't want to be found they'll switch their tag to something else. If said person doesn't want to be found they'll unregister from the planetary map. I have yet to see any benefit to your proposal.

I am not sure of what proposal I made. Anyway, they made the tents in a few locations to make image designers easy to find. You seem to be saying that this is the only way you will be able to find me or other image designers. Yes, if I do not want to be found, I change my tag or make myself unsearchable. If I could register on the map, I could unregister if I was not image designing at the time. As it is now, if I don't want to be found, I simply don't go to the tents. You aren't suggesting that as image designers, the only place we should be allowed to go in the game is inside of the image design tents, are you? What is the benefit of placing our own tents or terminals? I can work in a quiet place and give the customer the time that they deserve without a dozen people screaming at me that they need a haircut and they need it right now.
My bad. I got my wires crossed. What I was in fact replying to was this.

the other thing i wanted to add was a way to register Salons on the Vendor or World map. THis would solve the issue of having to track down Master Id's in particular.
As it is right now if you want to find an ID almost for sure you go to an ID tent. Registering them on the map and allowing them in player cities (considering the total number of IDs in the game vs any other class besides Politicians) is asking to make it *harder* to track down an actual ID.
This point is largely moot. I believe Runesaber has alreadysaid that both a) ID tents will be available in player cities at some point in the future and b) there will be ID tents placed in more NPC cities in the future. No word on registering them on the planetary map, but I don't see any benefit to this that Character Search doesn't already provide. If anything it's more time consuming.. having to wait around, email people, hope they reply, etc.
