Thread: An ability to make a look change Overt to Covert faster?

I have been thinking about this for a while, and think its sounds like a good idea,

Now if im a covert rebel and is out driving on my swoop and is scanned i might get turned overt, then i would have to go to an rebel npc and change my status then sit around for an hour for the change to take effect. And when considering that you get turned covert instantly when getting killed and the fp you loose, i pref. just to find someone to duel and loose the 50fp (its easy enough to get back)

if i instead could drop by my local ID and get my look altered so that the imps dont recognize me. i would get turned covert. imo there should also be a risk (and maybe a timer on how often you could do this) so that the better the skill of the ID the better chance i would have so they didnt recognize me, and if i did another faction action within a given timeframe (prob based on the ID skill) i would risk getting turned overt again, i.e i would do a destroy mission for an rebel i would have a chance of get overt instead of just a TEF.

And maybe a novice ID could only make it so my dot didnt become red or what color it gets to imps. but if they get close to me they would see that i was a reb (maybe have my reb icon by my name) and the better the id got my dot could go from yellow to light blue and near master my rebel icon would also go away and at master i would completely loose the overt status (either by going completely covert or just hiding as a covert until i do something). there could be two skills hiding status (smugglers could be able to do it on them self and hide their group to some degree) or change status. hide would have grater risk of failing and if changing i couldnt do anything back but if they discover me i would be back at overt again.

Interesting idea - heard it before, but I still think it's cute.

TEF's last a whopping five minutes. By the time you got back to civilization and found an ID, your TEF would mostly likely be long gone. If you're a doc or medic, this MIGHT be useful, but really, is 5 minutes such a long time to wait?

Actualy getting sccanned by troopers now turns you completely overt. It takes an hour to change back AFTER you have talked to a recruiter.

As a reb I catch a shuttle to Theed. Usually I'll get off'd in under 5 minutes and can go back to whatever I was doing (hunting). This takes time and money, especially if I am coming from Endor. I'd rather pay that money to an image designer.

I guess I could let the NPC stormies kill me... but that seems like such a... I dunno... WEAK way to die.
