1. Image Design was placed in the Entertainer profession tree, yet has not received Image Designer equivalents of post-launch Entertainer enhancements such as gig missions, registry on the global map, master player city buildings, or buffing.Willwe everreceive these Entertainer benefits?

Image Designer is another “brand new” player activity. It has never really existed in online play before and represents “new ground” in terms of game development. Its tougher to develop. As far as seeing benefits as “Entertainer” or “Image Designer” benefits per se, I reject that notion. SWG professions are not meant to be played is “Im a this and not that” or “Im a Warrior and not a Cleric”. SWG professions are meant to be mix and match. Pick what you want. The issue of content is difficult though it is a player issue. We want to make it easier for ID players to be able to do what they do best. We also have plans to beef up the profession in the very near future.

2. What was the original developer vision for ID? Does ID in its current form fit that vision? How have the community’s suggestions over the past months meshed with that vision?

That’s 3 questions =P

The original developer vision was to add a new dimension of play to MMO’s. That vision is still in development though and that constitutes the upgrades to the profession that are in the works. They are items that have been in development for a long time. The community’s suggestions have meshed fairly well. As soon as I can let you know the details, I will.

3. Many professions in SWG require interactions with other professions to gain the best benefit. ID is currently not dependent on any other professions nor are any professions reliant on ID—is there any intent to change that, and if so how?

I don’t know. It’s a good question. What kind of involvement would you like to see? (Keep in mind “Disguise” is a tricky issue. If ID’s could “disguise” players visually that is one thing, but there is the challenge of giving griefers a tool to be mean and then hide their identity…)

4. Would SOE ever consider adding a crafting element to Image Design? Suggestions made by the community in the past include makeup (lipstick and eye shadow), wigs, and buffing salon products (e.g. massage lotion, mud mask, eau de toilette).

I don’t think the SWG team would be against it for sure. They are always eager to add “crafting consumables” to the game. One thing I would ask in return is, “Crafting is a particular playstyle. Do you think you would want crafting to be added to the ID profession?”

Also, the nature of the buffing would have to be considered. Enhancing player ability always has to be a thoughtful process.

5. Are there plans to allow Image Designers to modify NPC vendors? Both the Image Designer and Merchant communities have often requested this ability. Many merchants devote a great deal of time (and database space via deletions) to getting as close as possible to a desired vendor look. The vast majority of randomized vendors would scare off potential customers.

Yes actually. That’s come up from both Merchants and ID’s and I am pursuing it.

Ok...this is not my area, but as a potential customer of ID I'd like to point something out: I have "Mask Scent" to protect me from those evil, annoying crazed bunnies, but nothing that I can find to serve the same from those evil, equally annoying meatlumps.

Wouldn't it be nice if I could buy a faction-fooling (but consumable) disguise kit from an ID to fool various swoopers and thugs and such without inducing needless wear and tear on my FWG5 when visiting my (extractors, house, shop)?

I'd consider it cool if I could even try disguising myself as an Imperial officer to get past a bunch of busy-body imperial crackerdowners so as to get to my (extractor, house, shop).

And I'd like to really look like an imperial officer too, complete with the idiotic grin. Stupid maybe, but fun.

Is this any good or should I just go take my medicine?

Think it would be interesting if the consumption of various foods and spices would gradually have various visible effects on you, e.g. making you fatter. Having a good image designer work on you could accelerate Stat Migration (exercise is good for you).

Now what I'd really like to see: Full body bio-surgical makeover. Using tools and components available from Doctors and Bio-Engineers (respectively), allow you to change your character model in more drastic ways. Some might be simply superficial such as adding head tentacles to a human or changing your gender, but the most expensive, dangerous, and time consuming would be changing your race all together (including skill mods).

Image Designer is a lot of work for not too much utility or profit. At least make it worth it by putting some neater features in. Disguise would be great.

Here is an idea that could get ID's a lot of trade.

Introduce a wanted level. Here is how it would work. In th upcoming patch we have the scans for contaband. If you run from the imperial patrols your wanted level goes up. Next time you meet an imperial NPC they roll against your wanted level as well as for the scan and you stand the chance of getting a TEF for that as well as any contraband you may be carrying.

Every time you escape the law your wanted level goes up and your chances of getting TEF'd by Imperial NPC's goes up too. Eventualy Your wanted level will get so High that you will be KOS to all Imperial and Law enforcment NPC's.

Here is where the ID's come in They can lower your Wanted Level by altering your apperance. The level that it is lowered is proporsional to how much your apperance changes, ie just change your hair and it goes down a little change your whole look and it goes back down to zero.

This would mean that all ID's could be usefull from the loliest novice to the Master.

We're Charley Brown, the Dev's are lucy and the Smuggler revamp is the football.
Every time we think, this is the time were gona get to kick the football Lucy pulls it away at the last minute.

9. Image Design is riddled with bugs (13) that have been around since launch. Why have none of our bugs been addressed to date? Is it related to us being a less populated profession, or are our bugs difficult to fix?

Actually there are bug fixes in this publish and there have been bugs fixed in the past as well. In general ID issues do tend to be challenging. They involve different teams and sometimes are harder to diagnose.

This is what TH has been saying to DEs for ever. And before that other devs. Bugs that have been around since BETA are just being fixed. Don't expect anything.

WHo about making ID "Disguises" affect Faction ranking. Allowing them to adjust faction level (Not including Rebel/Imperial of course)?

Dude, you're telling us you wouldn't notice somebody walking around with an ass the size of coronet? Personally, I find hips and rumps to be quite noticable. God I love watching my girlfriend walk up the stairs...

They are very noticable and the problem is that females have to have flatter hips and rumps than belly. To get any curves on the body, you have to have a man like beer belly... so not pretty. While this certainly is a body type irl, it's not the most common and it's for sure not the most widely accepted ideal. It looks very male... and the ability to put an enormous bust size on these no hips, no butt bodies makes the game look like tons of drag queens got a little carried with the bra padding. ><
