Ok, so let me get this straight..(im soo confused) there are NO new hairstyles?? Just colors? Somebody please reply..

Correct

For some reason hairstyles eat up the dev time, and they have pass along to us that with the time it would have taken to dotwo new headstyle per specie (one for males and one for females) they where able to add all they did. they do plan on giveing us more hairstyle, but not in this publish. I "think" body tatoos is next on list, but that may change.

Ok.. thank you for the quick reply. I think with all the fuss about the stat migration and emote thingies that noone is going to be concerned about the lack of new styles..I think the new colors will please everyone enough. Most customers are happy with the current styles.I get more requests for color than anything else. Seems like all Im hearing about is Twi'leks though..we all know theres going to be a ton of hot pink Twi'leks running aorund now..what about everyone else? Can humans have blue skin..what about Rodians? Any more info on other species colors would be great...

There's a program called "Animation Master"

It's one of the easiest to use computer graphics systems for 3d character animation.

After working for a short time with this thing you learn that hair is one of the hardest things to do with 3d modeling. With all the control points and such that are needed to keep it from bleeding through areas, teleporting elsewhere etc.... If you change one point to make the base of the hair fit to a new race's skull, you have to change ALL of the things.

I'd be curious if the art team could give an estimate on how long they spent on various aspects... the only thing harder than hair I would think... would be the bodies.

So if these guys want to do a new style, they have to start from scratch really to create the mesh. It's much easier to add a new color to the pallete.

Me... I'd be happy if some styles were merely altered for other races. (A few rodian styles adjusted for the Zabrak ladies. The human "bob" made thicker to be used on Bothan ladies, or thinner for use on Rodian ladies etc...) But again, if you adjust a control point it can mess up the rest. ::shrugs::

Maybe we can sweet talk some styles out of them... if we did though I'm sure it would be the ONLY thing in that publish.

i would love to see some of the human hairstyles incorporated for use on my zabrak lady, like the flat mohawk, with her horns poking through. even a bothan hairstyle would look good on a zabrak, i think. maybe i am naive on how its done,but i think your description on the work that goes into it is brilliant and as an artist myself, though an illustrator not a 3D modeler, i can appreciate the hard work that goes into it. the scales are set up pretty well i think to fit both human and zabrak heads (i think the model is essentially the same) to the same hairstyles. i would think after that it would be a matter of making sure the horns and the hair collide properly.

however, for giving a wookiee pigtails, or fitting a human hairstyle to a bothan or rodian would be a lot more scaling work, but i think it could be done. again, i may be looking at this too simplistically, but regardless, i like the idea.
