Alright here it is, I will post what I think are the pros and cons tothe idea of image designers being able to take off a TEF,and you guys take it from there.

Pros:

1. Lets image designers get involed in factions

2. Gives image designers something that can't be done at character creation.

Cons:

1. People trying to rush image designers to do it, its bad enough how people treat us like we have all the free time to run over and give them a image design, thinkof if it was a matter of there character dieing or not.

2. Could lead the image designer profession to where people don't want it, basicly it could be taking the spot of a diffrent addition that could be better.

I personally do not like the idea. For one, if the Image Designer the player is seeking is unavailable, or unwilling, to give them covert status, it could lead to serious griefing of the ID. People do NOT like to die, especially when another player could have prevented it. For another, it will unwillingly involve a lot of ID's in the GCW when I know many of them play neutral characters and have no interest in being involved in the war.

Its a bad idea. First of all the developers would never go for this idea anyway. There is a reason why it takes an hour to go covert. Its not just to be annoying. There is serious potential for griefing if you can go covert quickly. Image a master doctor with an image designer along with them going into the cantina of a stronghold of the opposite faction, diseasing everyone and then instantly going covert so they can sit there and mock everyone. It would make it almost impossible for people to take a base if the defenders could change between overt and covert at will (or so I imagine. I have never raided a base). Anyway, aside from the fact that this is completely different from the playstyle that most of us like, it would hurt the balance of the game.

Well you could master the entire profession everytime you wanted to go covert, 20 minutes vs and hour.

Right now it's impossible for Imperials to take a Rebel base anyway, because there's bug with Rebel player bases that allows them to reset the countdown terminal. But that's neither here nor there. You brought up some EXCELLENT points. Yeah... this will never happen.

GAWD no. I'm all for finding ways to up my number of clientele, but this is almost as evil as the TEF removal idea. Not to say it's bad or anything, but do you REALLY want a bunch of '1337 doods' /tell-spamming at you to Covert them before the Imperials in Theed blast them away, just to get trash-talked by the Imps for helping rebs? Nah. I don't think so.

hmm alot of people seem to be looking at this idea as removeing TEF's and while agree that that shouldnt happen I dont see why the idea in the title (I know the body says TEF) couldnt be done. Changeing an over to a covert is a compleatly different beast compaired to instant removeing a TEF. With the proper balances in it to prevent the griefing options I could see it working. how bout this for the idea

1 ID can change an overt to covert status imidatly (you look different and the enemy cant recognize you)

2when the change happens both players recive a TEF to the enemy faction of the now covert player (for covert they saw an overt walk in and a different person walk out so anybody nearby suspects you, for the ID they know an overt went to you and then disapeard you are suspect just like your costomer) Neutral ID's would be alowed to make the change but they would also recieve the TEF for engageing in an activity related to the GCW.

3 ID can NOT remove a TEF. (well I guess they could try just like the overt options but both get TEF'd agian anyway)

looks like that would alow for the option while removeing the major concerns. you can just instant vanish because your still attackable as a TEF for the nest 5 minutes and there is some risk to the ID for suplying a GCW related service. The option for neutrals to participate is left in so you can play the plastic sergeon that will change someones identity for a price no mater who they are although its still risky. Could make it an ability at master ID, sure someone could master the prof in less than an hour but they still have to take the points out of something else first wich I can garentee will take longer than an hour to get back.

To Upgrade something implies that you are adding too, enhancing, and fixing the thing that you are upgrading. The CU does not do this, it is not adding too, enhancing, or fixing the combat system that is in place, it is replacing the innovative SWG system with the generic one used by its competitors. Be honest and stop calling it the CU, Call it the CR (combat replacement) instead

Umm...... no. This would do nothing for the Image Designer community as most Image Designers I know are non-combat people. You think I would make someone overt so i can get shot at/punched by the people chasing him? No I wouldnt.

The only people that would benefit from this would be people who would go out and master ID as fast as they could to do just this very thing. While i dont fight at all in the GCW, I think that if you go Overt you should play the game as its meant to be played and deal with being Overt.

There are plenty of ID's that aren't involved in the GCW and want to keep it that way. I'm sure not going to Covert someone and get a TEF, because I've PvPed enough to know that overts will shoot at anything they can target. And as an entertainer, I have practically zero combat skills. So... no, thank you.

Im kind of an image designer, i set people on fire or pound their faces in so i thought id chime in on this (not to mention that i was pursuaded to speak on this issue by a certain id'er).

I pvp quite a bit. I get buffed, go to a recruiter to go overt and then i go to look for some rebels to fight. eventually my buffs wear out or i get bored so i go back to the recruiter to become covert again... this is when i have the most fun! its a rush to have to wait out that hour and be vulnerable. Its also fair. it gives that reb i just set on fire the chance to heal up and come find me again. When you go overt you assume risk.

Im a trando.... if i could give id'ers one thing today it would be the ability to give me red tiger stripes (like some earthbound lizards) and to allow me to be black. i would not however want to put any of the image designers in jeopardy just because i cant wait.

not to mention the fact that youre bound to die sooner or later if youre overt, so whats the big deal anyway? Factional death creates no decay (the devs listened and the GCW saw a rise in activity) and the only thing you suffer is battle fatigue and entertainers need more of that to heal.

Are you an overt rebel that wants to go covert, head to Theed or Bestine all by yourself, eventually someone is going to kill you Instant Covert Status.

Are you an overtimperial that wants to go covert, head toCoronet orAnchorhead all by yourself, eventually someone is going to kill you Instant Covert Status.

No image designers need to be placed intoharms way.
