What I sent in, please do still check out the Knowledge Base in the game and/or on the web, for all your professions



How do I Image Design myself?

- Either clear your target or target yourself by using Ctrl-F1. Then type
/im and you're good to go.


When I try to Image Design myself or my friend, all the options are grayed
out!

- Some species have no options available to them at Novice Entertainer and
Image Design I. By Image Design II, eye color becomes available which can
be done on all species. In the meantime you will have to find a species
with hair or makeup to work with.


Is there a way to auto accept an Image Design offer, such as
/imagedesignConsent?

- No, the person being offered an Image Design modification must hit the
"Accept" button manually. /imagedesignConsent is not usable by players.


Do Image Designers have access to anything beyond what is available in
character creation?

- Yes, Image Designers have many hairstyles available only through the
services of an Image Designer. Ranges of character creation attributes
remain the same, so an Image Designer cannot make you taller or shorter than
you could make yourself in Character Creation for example. There are no
additional colors available to Image Designers.


I got a hairstyle change from an Image Designer and everyone says my hair is
brown/white/orange now when it looks the same as it always did to me!

- This is a known bug. When your hairstyle is changed, your hair color
defaults to a certain color (different for each species) for everyone but
you. A long logout (long enough for you to time out of the server) or
server reset will fix the problem.


I got a new hair color from an Image Designer, but I'm the only one that can
see it!

- This is a known bug. Everyone but you will see your old color until you
time out of the server (via a long logout) or the server resets.


Do I need resources to Image Design?

- No, just target yourself (or clear your target) or whoever you want to
Image Design and type /im.


What skill do I need to Image Design?

- Anyone with Novice Entertainer can do Image Design.


How do you get Image Design experience?

- Every time someone accepts an Image Design offer from you, you gain Image
Design experience. You also get experience from Image Designing yourself,
but it is about a quarter less than you would get by working on someone
else. To get started, target yourself (ctrl-F1) or someone else, and type
/im.

Suggestions forKnowledge Base inclusions from the other thread, if anyone is up to tackling these into a Q&A format please feel free. If not I'll write something up and submit it



  • Slider defaulting to zero bug

  • Missing abilities - Baldness, eye shape, Zabrak/Twi'lek male freckles

  • Outstanding offer bug

  • Does ID take resources?

This is a little long but please read this through carefully. Some of you may remember a thread I had up a couple of weeks ago asking for more Q&A's about Image Design to add to those I submitted (I'll transfer those to this thread soon) for the Knowledge Base. The Knowledge Base is an awesome resource that SOE's Customer Service is updating and expanding, which allows you to enter questions you have about the game. It then shoots back the closest matches. Just typing in "image" will pop up ten results. It's accesible both in and out of the game. Eventually all professions will have threads asking for feedback and additional Q&A's.


What benefit do I get if I help?


Besides a warm fuzzy feeling? The knowledge that you are helping to free up the time of CSR's from answering FAQ type questions about the game, so that they can attend to serious issues you or your friends might be having. Do we really want a CSR explaining the outstanding offer bug to someone while you are wedged inside a wall?


The following from Q-3PO (see dev tracker):





CS has been working hard with the dev team and the correspondents to give the Knowledge Base a major overhaul. We want this tool to be extremely useful to players looking for information in-game or out of game. We would love to get your feedback on how accurate the KB is for answering common questions.

In game, please open the Holocron (CONTROL + H by default), click on the "Customer Service" button and type your question in the box called "String". Double click on the Articles listed to get the answer.

Out of game, you can go to the Station Knowledge Base. Be sure to type "Star Wars Galaxies" in your question though or you will get answers back from other SOE games like EverQuest.

In this thread, please report any problems you have getting the information you are looking for. CSRDavidF will be collecting your feedback. I also encourage you to work with your correspondents in the Professin Forums to add more details.

Thank you for kicking off this post Kwee. The Knowledge Base in game is quickly growing to cover more and more topics and provide the most accurate information possible. On a daily basis entries are published to the Knowledge Base and any errors that are located are fixed and published.fficeffice" />



The exciting thing about the Knowledge Base is that the response time for the entries can be so swift. If you locate an error in the Knowledge Base and bring it to your correspondent we can fix it and have the corrected version in game within hours or even minutes of receiving that information. Any gaps in the Knowledge Base can also be quickly filled.



I’ve asked your correspondent to start a thread like this for two reasons. First the Knowledge Base is very important to us, but right now it is under utilized. I’m working with the Correspondents and the Developers to increase awareness for the Knowledge Base. Soon we’ll be changing some things in game to make the Knowledge Base a lot more visible.



That brings me to my second reason for coming to you – information that is as complete and accurate as possible. When the Knowledge Base becomes more prominent it will be vital for it to be as complete and accurate as possible. We have been working internally and with the Correspondent program to comb the Knowledge Base and add new entries. We would really appreciate it if you could point out anything that you find to be in error, out dated, or simply missing. If you think a question needs to be asked that’s not here please post it, or send it directly to your correspondent. We’ll work to get as many into the Knowledge Base as we can.



Thank you for your support and we really hope that you find the Knowledge Base to be a useful source of information. Please keep in mind that the Knowledge Base is intended to provide information about systems and policies but will not provide direct spoilers.





For quick answers to many game play questions, you may want to first reference the knowledge base located in the Holocron Menu. I just wanted to stop by and say that we’re very thankful for all of the input we have received from the community. Over the last few weeks the Knowledge Base has seen literally thousands of new entries in every conceivable topic. Many of the best questions have come directly from these forums.

If you have not yet taken a look at the Knowledge Base I encourage you to do so. With Publish 7 (currently on ffice:smarttags" />Test Center and coming soon to a server near you) the Knowledge Base will be more visible with some User Interface changes that are going in. We also hope to further revamp the User Interface for the Knowledge Base in the next few publishes following 7.



If you have questions regarding game systems, even if you know the answers to those questions or think they are silly, please either post here or work with your correspondent to get those questions to us. The more information we can put in the Knowledge Base the more useful it will be for all of us. We are also interested in feedback on existing entries from typos to incorrect wording or information. Bring those to your correspondent as well.



Finally I want to stress again that the Knowledge Base is one of the items in Star Wars Galaxy that we can update and modify whenever we choose. If you see that the Knowledge Base doesn’t cover a topic, or covers it poorly, get your correspondent’s attention and we’ll look at it. Changes made to entries are instantly visible in game and on the web site.



The link to the knowledge base out of game is http://station.sony.com/kb or you can find it in game by opening your Holocron (CTL H) and clicking on the Customer Service button in the lower left.
