Thread: Devs doing to little, to late. I'm quitting ID, perhaps game as well.

This has been perhaps, the toughest decision I've made in a long time when it comes to doing things I enjoy. I'm bothered, completely disapointed and outright annoyed as to what the developers have done with the portion of the game. I've read all the posts with respect to hopeful changes in publish 8. As I read them I thought, 'wow... is that it? this is what I've been waiting to see happen for over 8 months, and thats all the Devs will offer?" No, I'm sorry but no... I will not continue to play out a profession based soley on new stuff coming up now. I've sat here, patientlybut now I've had it.

Sure, the alledged changes may stir some excitement for a few weeks but come on, how many people do you see with the exact same haircut? There is no variety, no use and certainly no viable reason for this profession to really exist anymore. I feel that its been killed by the developer's lack of attention to it.

I wonder why I've spent this time and effort now, holding out for a change. Perhaps World of Warcraft will have better treatment of a community whose players tend to be females. I don't know.... maybe its outright Virtual-gaming discrimination against the female gender.

I love the starwars universe. I've read many of the books, watched and own all the films and have a heathy poster collection. SWG has completely and utterly turned me off to Mr. Lukas' vision of this wonderful world. While yes, I did have some great times here, I can no longer justify the time spent, with the amount of fun vs agravation I've experienced.

I suppose the Devs are under the impression that everyone likes fighitng, hunting and killing monsters. Well... I am... or was more partial to the social aspects the game provided.

enough is enough...

You have got to be kidding me.

Discrimination? I hardly think so. I am a female IRL and I play all female characters, and I can't tell you how much free stuff I get just because I'm a chick. Males and females in the game have no differences in stats or abilities. We're just shaped differently and have different clothing options. If I wanted to be a bounty hunter, commando or TKM, by golly, that's what I'd be doing. It's all about the choices we make.

As for quitting... why leave when we're so close to finally getting some love from the devs? I would at least stick around and see what kind of new stuff we'll be getting. And BTW, what do you mean, "Is that it?" Is WHAT it? We don't even know what the developers are giving us in Publish 8. Thunderheart has SPECIFICALLY said he won't tell us for sure until he's a little more certain himself.

And out of curiosity, why post a goodbye thread when you've never posted to the ID forum before? Just curious.

Ouch. However, well said and good points--said what I'm too nice to say, minus a few things. ^__________^;

While leaving right when the profession is about to get new goodies also strikes me as odd, your feeling that dev time has been concentrated on combat is definitely accurate. It is really only starting at Publish 6 that we are beginning to see the benefits of having Thunderheart lobby for all of the professions, and the benefits of the devs' plan to tackle the top issues of each and every profession over time. The thought that the more female populated professions have gotten the least attention is one that is voiced very often, and I certainly hope that the devs make it a priority to rectify this in the future.

Ive been an ID for around 3 months now, still never had a clue how to price it, and no clue (nor interest) in macro's for it, i just find the proffession itself fun, and im waiting eagerly to see what these changes are.

It may be true combat proffessions get more love, but ive never been a combat proffession so cant really say ><

Well even if it is a late addition to the class, in england at least they have a common saying 'better late than never'.
