Thread: Image Designers and the GCW

I have never needed the help of an image designer as of yet in my SWG experience. Presently they have no role in the Galactic Civil War. If an image designer can change the complete appearance of a character, should they not be able to change theovert/covert statusof a character, or even disguise the character from the opposing faction? Should the disguised character remain overt and all overts of the opposing faction show up as yellow dots on radar; meaning that the disguised character would have the advantage of first attack and the ability to go overt at any time.
I am interested to know how the image designer community feels about the ability to disguise a character from the opposing faction. Where should this skill rank in the skill tree? Should an image designer require a certain rank in the army of their faction before being able to use this skill? How long should the disguise last? Would disguises be craftable and have an effectiveness rating?

My posting time is limited here, let me just say disguises come up very often as an idea and some forms of disguise have majority support among ID'ers. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and suggestions

Since Kwee was pressed for time, I'll try to expand her answer a bit. The idea of ID's being able to "disguise" people from negative or opposing faction, as well as being able to change someone from overt to covert, has come up many times. The idea that is most widely accepted is the idea of ID's being able to lower negative faction. This would be most helpful in cases like someone with -5000 thug faction trying to do the Imperial theme park, because it's very difficult to escort someone back to Darth Vader if you've been forced to kill them. 
The idea of being able to change someone from overt to covert is generally disliked. For the most part, we ID's feel that there's too much potential for griefing, both for the ID if we decide NOT to do it for someone (I mean, if I died and another player could have prevented it and refused to, I'd be pretty mad too), and for other players as well. All the person would need to do would be take an ID with him on a raid, kill five players, then immediately go covert and no one could touch him. There's also the fact that many of us don't really WANT to be involved in the GCW. I am personally just fine making people pretty for a living.
