Just wanted to let everyone know what happened last night...
I was working away doing stats when some regular customers came by for a migration. No biggie...well, I get to work , and just about as were done I noticed his bars were all black..how he was still walking around I have no idea..but hey I have no idea about wounds since I have never done any combat professions. So we goof around and I go to click the button..and BAM falls flat on his back right there in the tent..incapped. Ut -oh. Turns out he had migrated his mind and with the wounds he had , it left him with barley nothing. He didnt think the wounds would matter..guess he was wrong. Poor guy was stuck there in the tent with permanent incap , it would count down then start again.Oh we had a real good laugh as he laid there in the tent and we all raced around trying to find someway to heal him. We called in Docs, and Medics, even a Squad leader.Lost count of how many times he relogged. He finally was rescued by a CSR (this I missed...) So I just wanted to share this with other ID's to let them know to pay attention to thier customers wounds before stat migration. Has this happened to anyone else? And who said Master Image Designers arent dangerous...

Just be sure to remind your customers to heal ALL wounds before a Stat Migration in the future

You know, when I first started doing the migrations, I told my customers to get thier wounds healed, but then after a bit I didnt think it mattered. Well now I know.

Normally, you can't be wounded so heavily that any stat is brought to0 or below. So if you have 600 mind, you can only be wounded for 599 points. It sounds like this was just a bug and the wounds weren't reduced when he shrunk his mind pool.
Unless you have more wounds than you are planning to shrink your pool to, you should have no problems migrating stats while wounded. In the mean time, be sure you have filed a /bug report.

This is strange.. I know about two weeks ago I healed someones wounds from nearly 800 down to 300 by migrating them away. They must have changed it.

This is actually nothing new, it have been in for quite a while. Before the ID patch, people with a ongoing statmigration had to be carefull not to get wounds taht blackened their stats, or they would as you describe, become perma incapped.
It just became a bit more noticable now when you do all the migration in one go.
Still safer to tell you client to get all his wounds healed before attempting a stat migration. If he says its ok, but become incapped, thats his fault really
Still a funny story!

Note to self: give free stat migrations to heavily-wounded Rebels ....

Heh... yeah, I can remember (before they changed it) not only one of MY characters, but a guildmate got incapped while stat migrating. The guildmate had to call for help, he had logged out in his house on Dantooine while diseased and in the process of migration his stats and had logged in to find that he could not get up. With my own character, I just migrated the stats back to where they had been.
