Thread: A question about stat migrations...

if ID could migrate themselves, we'd be the most powerful profession in the game. We'dbe Uber-elite and the crowd would cry nerf. More seriously If novice ID could migrate themselves, many would get the skill box to stat migrate themselves and not care about the rest of the porfession.

I wonder why people would spend about 49 skill points to get to buy one stack of ID skills letting them migrate stats.

Maybe it's because i don't see the true power it has in your opinion, but back when we could stat migrate ourselves without any ID, i didn't find it was a much needed skill once you have found the good mitigation.

I don't know if this has been asked before, but have the devs given any reason as to why image designers can't stat migrate themselves? Or why even Master ID's can't either? Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times, but I didn't see any post about it.

Hmm, thanks for the reply, but I guess no one really knows why the devs decided to take that power away from even Master IDs? Whatever the reason, I hope they let at least Master IDs stat migrate themselves...

totally agree. And while their at it, let the freakin musicians and dancers mind buff themselves too. At least at the master level for goodness sake

Most memorable SWG quotes:
"You lookin fer summat?"
"Get on board the falcon kid. This place is gonna blow." (How can you forget something you've heard over 100 times in a row?)

Yeahhhh ... Master level self-buffs and self-migrations are something I have often wished for. Well, mostly the migrations since I'm no longer a dancer or musician.

I think the devs want to make entertainers dependent upon each other, which is a good idea in theory. If I want mind buffs or stat migrations I have a collection of entertainer acquaintances who'd gladly help me out. (Of course that excludes Kwee because I stole her secret shampoo last week while she was out so she blacklisted me, but what can ya do? )

Once hologrinding officially comes to an end I believe this will be less troublesome. The people who want to play entertainers will move back to the cantinas because that's the atmosphere they like, and enjoy. As well as us image designers can come out of hiding (Yes, I'm a Closet ID )

I'd like to believe that, but I doubt it. It's not so much an issue of wanting Entertainers professions self-dependant. As it's an issue of not wanting Entertainer professions to end up the way of Novice Medic and be a general "dabble" for most solists. Which, in part, is why the argument is being made for making self-Entertainer mechanic boon a Master level perk, as at Master Level, you're not quite a dabbler . Although, I don't understand/grasp that argument with the Performance professions, as the buffage only is really useful at Skill Box 4 or Master.

It's something to hope for later at least. As really once the Hologrind is over and the aftermath settled, the game logic will change dramatically.

Exactly...once pub10 and then the combat revamp come out, I think we're going to see a very different face on SWG. Most of our current problems should be a lot easier to handle after pub10, though they're not gonna just magically disappear. It will be interesting. Personally I think it will be for the better, but only time will tell(I always crack up at combatters who complain that the combat revamp is a big nerf... if everyone gets nerfed to approximately the same degree, then how is it a big deal?)

Because they're not talking nerf compared to eachother, they're talking nerf compared to MOBs. Waah! I won't be able to solo the geo labs anymore!

Most of the universe's problems can be solved by the application of a brick to the side of the right head.
The problem is if you don't have a big enough brick or can't find the right head. The devil is in the details.

Aww, muffin.

Really, you've got to admit it's pretty dumb when a normal master combat prof can wipe out a whole bunker, or solo some of the most feared creatures in the galaxy. It will be nice to have mobs that can scare us again. Of course, DWB will become even more incredibly tough, but it's good to have some very very very very very very hard dungeons in a game like this.
