**hides behind keytokikomima** didnt say anything negative that hasnt been whined about in the forums nonstop.
some guy was looking for an id on his server and i said they were probably too busy complaining about being bothered for id by people they didnt know or one star bandits.
ya know..real important stuff that the "community" has to hear about ona daily basis. im sorry but i get real tired of people going off on devs and the game in general like they are the only ones who play when the forums are supposed to be helpful. yeah a few senseless posts here and there are fun..but the same whining day after day over the same stuff is lame.
if they dont like itor feel like they are getting ripped off because they pay to play and they arent getting what they want then please quit already.
Very true. You've been to the Squad Leader forum, haven't you? *giggles*
Yeah.. if you aren't happy don't play. The Image Design forum is pretty good at answeringa lot of thequestions that people ask. Occasionally one slips through the cracks, though!
"Where can I find a list of Image Designers on my server?" is a pretty common one. I just wish people would read a bit before they post sometimes.. the list they want is stickyed to the top of the forum. It's not very hard to find, though I've been there, and had a bad day before.
And you have to remember, no one starts a thread.. well90% ofpeople don't..to say 'hey I had a great time!' This is the Complaint Department of SWG, and usually people come here to vent their feelings, or to get sympathy, or to get the answer to a question that's frustrating them. It starts with a negative experience.
Having a Correspondent helps us feel like we have some measure of control, but don't kid yourself.. TH's powers over SWG are quite limited. Even Runesabre doesn't have 100% say-so power over something. The people who do dress in business suits and work over in Sony and Lucas HQ.
Interesting fact: Even though LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment work together on SWG, it requires LucasFilms to approve any statement made by any of the movie characters. When they did DWB, every line spoken by Boba Fett was wrangled over for a week.
I could say the same of your dislike of the community's expression of concern. Don't like it? Don't visit the forums. Not much of a solution, is it?

Of course it is one purpous of this forum to give the players the oprotunity to express their concerns. And with the great Correspondent-system here the devs are able to monitor those concerns and issues the comunity sees to exist in the game.
The point here is the way many many players express their concerns and the lack of patience the players have with the developers to answer to them.
I have to confess, I would be glad to get some clear answers from the devs more often, too. But on the other side, it's very very hard for the developers to give such answers. Believe it or not, the devs would like to see much more of those great ideas implemented that the players or themself come up with, but their limited time (their days, too, have only 24 hours and I was told some of them do have a live beside their jobs, too) and the requirements of this game don't allow for em all. Especially not in the small timeframe that players seem to need to loose their patience.
So I only wish, that players would atleast try to see things from the perspective of the developers, too before they spit their poison at them. But I wish, too, that the developers would take some of their precious time to not only step back from the game to get a better overview, but to actually step into the game and play it as we players do, to see it from our perspective, too. This would avoid much of the mistakes and wrong decisions, that seem to suffer from the desaterous Ivory Tower Syndrom.
Another thing that would really help to keep the boards much nicer would be, that players that have some grief for one reason or another please don't try to 'convice' others, that the game is no fun, for which reason ever. Only because they think, they cannot play this game anymore, many more others still have fun with swg and there is no need to 'convince' em of the oposite.

My point was, complaining about the complainers doesn't really do any good either. Neither does telling people to just quit.

Well, I have to agree there. On the other side: Simply ignoring complainers will not make it any better either.
