A friend of mine said that at one time the designers planned to allow facial hair to grow over time, with visits to an ID required to trim it back, and that this is why all the facial hair in the game looks like peach fuzz. Anyone ever heard this or know if it's true?

No, facial hair doesn't show up as well because unlike the hair on top of your head, it's just a texture that's added to the face.

I've never heard of that, but I didn't start playing until Beta III. Would sure boost business hehe.

Of course we'd also get a lot of grumpy customers. Like the people who go afk when they hit the cantina for bf healing and don't tip... Except we'd be forced to interact with themAND they wouldn't want totip/pay

I loathe the fact that my 'beard' looks like paint...
