As we all know, Publish 8 brings forth to us a new system of payment on the new interface. I was hoping to discuss what you feel would be the best prices to set for our services seeing as I do not like the thought of competition. I'm looking for your feedback. I know the economy on all servers varies, but I'd love to hear suggestions from Image Designers from all galaxies.
First and foremost, we should all take into account how rare and truly awesome our services really are and what they are truly worth. Not only did many of us pay for the training all by ourselves (I know I did), but the TALENT involved with Image Design is a true art. I've always said this:
Image Design is the easiest profession to Master, but the hardest profession to be a master at.
Not to mention, we "sacrafice" so many skillpoints just to be able to do what we love (though I really don't view it as a sacrafice but... you get the idea!) and should also consider that factor. In addition, the time, or labor involved with Image Design is truly significant -- we give ourselves up graciously for the sake of pleasing others -- that deserves recognition. So taking in all of this into account, what do you think we're worth? I'd like to establish a pricing system andI wouldhave no problems posting the system for Eclipse IDers on my ID website I'm working on and make a universal email for us to send to the customer if they have any doubts/questions/concerns with the set price list.
What prices do I feel are necessary? Well, to this day I have usually just asked for the customer to tip what they feel their modifications have been worth. What I've noticed is people are WILLING to pay 10 - 20k for a SINGLE change. The amount of money floating around now is even more in abundance than ever, so I would love to take that into account.
I'd like to have this open to discussion until Publish 8 hits so we can truly decide what the new and old modifcations are worth. I'm open to any suggestions!
