The 5 min timer for eye color change is just unreal. 5 min for a xp worth of 300. Even in the tent doing nothing but wait for the timer gets boring real quick. 5 min and even 2.5 min is way too long. I agree that it shouldn't be possible to master the profession in matter of an hour. It also is suppose to be fun. Waiting is never fun.
As for the stat migration. That's a tough one. Its 10 min for 900 xp. If they remove the timer it again becomes possible to relatively easy get to Master ID. It might be better than to just remove the timer and have it becomean option you can use only once a week. 10 min of being idle for both the ID and the client is insane. Tho it shouldn't be easy either, how to fix this one i am not entirely sure about. perhaps there should be an external timer for the stat migration. so that an ID can start on another client, but not yet perform a new stat migration and the client can just walk off knowing that his stats will migrate over the course of 10 min.

5 minutes for eye color and 2 minutes for other simple changes are really too much..and 10 minute stat migration.
These timers really need to be REDUCED or elminated at Master (maybe keep a 2min stat migration). Afterall.. a master is a MASTER. Does a MASTER Rifleman shoot at a 10 second cap? Does a MASTER Teras Kasi or a doctor / combat medic / etc get

And to the doctor argument - you are guys are missing the big point. It does NOT matter how long it takes a doctor to do two buffs, because you see, the buff is instant - from then on the doctor can do whatever else he wants OTHER than applying buffs, this includes doing other medical-related actions. Image Designers must WAIT the ENTIRE duration of the timer before they can instantly make the changes appear - they can't just walk off, they can't go fight, they can't go heal hurt people, they can't do someone's eyes while they wait for the other person's hair to change or you could roleplay dry or something. My point is that unless the doctors have a big window blocking their view, and that they have to wait for 2, 3, however many minutes before the can actually do the buff instantly then it is a moot point that shouldn't even be in this thread. Sorry for wasting anyone's time, just wanted to remind some people....

I mean, come ON, was it REALLY neccesary to make us wait long enough to go make a sandwiche, pop into the restroom or maybe watch a tv show just to do a change to someone? (Ok, so the bit about a tv show is a slight exageration.) I had barely started working on ID before the change, it is miserable trying to get any xp.

I
I think the 10 minute timer or whatever for stat migration should stay in, but be on the client side only. No need to tie up the ID with this as well.
The timer should be reduced considerably, and I'm fine with that at the master levels there. I can see why they put the timer in to help make this not just a profession that is easily mastered in 2 hours or less, but something you have to work at, however, that wait is just crazy, especially if the client jus wants small changes ..

agreed. five minutes is too long. They accomplished taking macros out of the ID profession, they shouldn't make it unbearable. Its already a profession almost no one wants. This will make it worse.

With the new UI changes the timer isnt needed at all. You cant macro image design anymore, NO TIMER IS NEEDED. Any amount of time is far too long.
If ANYTHING has to be limited it should be Stat Migration, and only on the Clients side. If you request a stat migratiuon from an image designer you should have to wait a set amount of time before you can do it again, the image designer should be able to move on with her life and to the next client.

If it takes 5 minutes to change someone's eye color, which is our way of getting xp. Then every crafting profession needs to be put in line with it for their ways of making xp. So instead of getting around the crafting tool timers by being able to use more than one crafting tool...limit them to using only one tool at a time. Just wait until you see the uproar that would cause if novice armorsmiths, weaponsmiths, architects had to wait on their tool to finish (over a minute most times, and not longer than 2 minutes even) before they could begin to craft another item. Don't compare it to the time it takes docs to buff. Compare it to the time it takes docs to craft a buffpack and you will see my point.

Im not an ID I just popped in to check out a few of the new changes, mainly holo emotes. Anyway I think the new timer is ridiculous, I hope its gets changed for both the ID and the customers sake.

I totally agree that this 2 min. wait period is pathetic. It does not take 2 min. to change an eyeshadow or a hair color.

I don't usually post around here, just read, but this is something that really needsto bechanged, and quickly. I hopped on my ID yesterday to check out the changes and practice a bit, but after waiting that first five minutes to change one thing, I sighed and gave up. I understand that the Devs implemented it so our profession couldn't be grinded in two hours, but at this rate no-one's going to master.
For example: 300 exp every five minutes... a first-tier box takes 10,000 ID exp... that would take roughly 2.7 hours to earn one box! And during this time you cannot do anything else! I consider myself a pretty patient person, but even I can't do that. /cringe

I am grinding ID not for a holo but because I've enjoyed it previously on another server. I like what has been added and would like to experience it. However, these time restraints are pathetic. I agree there should be a time limit due to holo grinding, but 5-10 min. to change something is pathetic and is greatly hurting business for those that are already ID's. The max time it should take is 30 seconds on any change other than stat mig. now that I can see being a little longer as it took a reg. person days to convert their stats.

/sign.................. time is set way to high can't even finish the id part just for ent. Worst part is that i'm a wookiee, meaning the first 2 boxes have to be done on someone else,
