Thread: A message to anyone visiting these forums to complain about us...

I think the main reason for the complaints on every Galaxy forum - is that stat migration has been free for so long, people have taken it for granted, and now the devs have given us IDs (who had no purpose other than to make people look pretty) a service that is CRITICAL to other professions, dancers heal mind wounds and BF, docs buff, and heal wounds, before an ID session was a luxury, something you did on occasion when you fancied a change.

Now you actually NEED us for something, and you hate it because you all loved your nice cheap easy stat migration button, well i'm sorry, we didn't actually ask for this, but to be honest, i'm glad we got it, i took master ID because i like socialising with people, being a master ID means i have to think really hard about what other professions i'd like to take..yes i'd like to hunt and before tuesday i could never make enough money to buy decent weapons or armour to avoid dying to the nearest servvort..i guess my flimsy skirt and bikini top don't cut it as armour.

To all you people that complain...the next time you hand over that 200k+ for your 80% kin comp armour, and you find that you've not got the HAM to support it, can you really object to paying 25-40k for a service that allows you to wear it within 10 minutes, and go off hunting to your hearts content. and make it back withing another 10-20 mins.

I'm sure most of you all would wait 20-30 mins for a weaponsmith to craft you a kick ass weapon and pay 10-20k for it - and then wait another 10 mins for a slicer to turn up to slice it....

Does this put things in perspective for you?

Stop spitting your dummy out because you lost your stat migration rattle

thanks for your time

25-40k? On Infinity, a couple of IDers, myself included, decided that 15k is a reasonable price and there are IDers here that think even that is too much

I was simply making an example.

i've migrated stats for as little as 500 credits..it all depends on the client

( i seem to get hassle no matter where i post, am i really being THAT greedy?)

Let them whine. I've done a dozen holoemotes for free and have charged others 5K a pop. If someone doesn't want to pay or starts to whine about the price I just ignore them (of course understanding some price haggling can go on).

Over time a "standard" price will become used. Of course some will charge less and some more and there will always be those that whine.

Any new function/item has a price spike. We just have to remember when the next patch gives another profession something we want - don't whine and just wait a week or two the price always drops.

Remember when mounts first came out? People were charging (and getting) 500K for a Kaduu, and now I bet CH's have trouble giving them away for free

Well, I don't know about the price... While I'll bet many fighting classes have no trouble getting 25 - 40k, it takes me about two weeks to get that much money as a maledancer. I'd recommend considering price based on who you're selling the stat migration to.

Regardless, I am personally very glad that image designers were given the ability to migrate stats. They really did need to have some ability that everyone needs to have. I would disagree that dancers and musicians have an ability that everyone needs, though. I mean, people do need wounds healed by one of them, but if a single afk person can do the work of all the entertainers at once for free...

Anyhow, getting back to Image Designers, I'm not sure that they've been given enough abilities, in fact. I mean, I'm not an image designer, but once people realize they're going to have to pay for stat migrations, many will probably just set their stats to the final version of what they want, visit an image designer once, then neveragain. And that means that image designers are still not going to have an ability that many people want to pay for.

I charge 20k for stat migrations, and if they want any ID work done, it's free with a stat migration. I'm just sitting there anyway, I might as well be able to have some fun. Unfortunately, no one yet that I've done a migration for has let me do any ID on them. Fie! FIE I say!

I love it while waiting for the timer when i am given full reign over their hair/fur and eye colors. Weee! Of course I do try to keep it appropriate. The wookie really didn't like to have a purple fur so we decided on black, but to have all these colors even as a novice. weee!

I think that logicly stat migration should of allways belonged to the ID's. I also think that to make this change at this time was a really BAD idea. Now I'm not a master ID so I could be wrong here, but I fail to see how sony has yet to provide you with any real presence in the game with this change. uderstand I think you do deserve to BE needed. Thing is this is a new concept to be able to change stats after character creation and how long do you think it will be before the uber "templates" are posted giving optimum stats? I don't see how this change does much more then double your allready dismal amount of customers. Worse yet on many servers the amount of ID's on the server is small because the class was so poorly implemented. Short term the lure of big money altering stats will net new ID's but in the long term I don't see how this will provide incentive for mroe people to become ID's. So I'll say again logicly stat migration should of allways been an ID thing, but I don't see it as the love your class truely needed and until the class has a real purpose in the game I think it was poor timing to add it now. I do hope that Sony finds a way to work ID's into the game on a more tangable level and somthing much more enjoyable then stat migration.

I think its the most stupid time sink ever created in this or any game to date. No one is paying for pushing a button, they are paying for theservice of having to sit in front of a stupid friggin interface screen for ten agonizing minutes. Once again the creativity of a pet rock comes through with this "feature" update to SWG... How long are IDers going to "enjoy" this fun new content of ten minute time sinks? At least in the past you tweeked your stats and forgot about it. Need to get that helm on, swig a brandy..., eat a biscuit, whatever... The lack of any evidence that the devs even play this game is giving me serious doubts about the future of it and directly responsable for posts like this...
