Thread: A big thank you to the dev team

( and don't try to fool anyone that you're hardcore guys, cause you didn't put in the 12 straight days of grinding to get, and if you did, strike my last and kudos, you're a lot tougher than I am)
I enjoyed reading your hologrinder perspective. Very honestand respectful to the profession. The above will make many Master ID's upset however and I wanted to comment on it b/c the very reason that makes this statement untrue for many of us is the reason we are so symphathetic about how long the grind is now going to take. There were two very large groups of current masters who did not master the profession in under three hours.
1/ Those of us who mastered at launch didn't have the benefit of dancer/musician buffs (they didnt' exist), macros (the commands were known by very few people, I was one of those who knew about them but didn't use them, they were exploitable in various ways back then), spices and food were hard to locate and their usefulness in ID was not widespread knowledge. My friends who worked on grinding ID every single day took about a month to master. I hated grinding and took two months, but only because I had my ID friends to practice on and it was fun hanging out with them, otherwise I would have taken much longer. It was a click fest of drool-inducing boredom and carpal-tunnel-causing pain. We've been ID's for a very very long time and it was a hard road. When we mastered it very much felt like an achievement, but it was hard earned.
2/ This group has my utmost respect and adulation. Some ID's did not grind at all or very little, and got their exp from real customers. The first of these started mastering five, six, seven months post launch. They hated grinding so much they never or rarely did it. I partially took this path with my Tailor who mastered 7 1/2 months post launch (did some grinding towards the end).
And of course there is a third group who whether they got to MID fast or slow are concerned with the new exp method slowing or stoppingthe growth of the profession (that is, new people coming in).

Well said, Kwee!
I am one of those that hates to grind, and I got all my exp from real customers. I began playing SWG back in September last year and started working towards Image Design almost right away. I mastered it literally 2 months ago - it took me 6 months to get there! I also was one of those who didn't understand macros at first, and I didn't know much about food or spice either ( and was too poor to buy much, anyway). So it bothers me when customers complain about my prices, and assume that I'm just another hologrinder out to get a fast buck. Not all of us treat this profession like fluff! And I'm personally glad the devs made it so hard to get through it now.
Just my 2 cents. ![]()
