Thread: the greatest client ever lol

I wantto tell you all about a wonderful experience i had the other day with a client. Won't mention his name because the person I was working on was his jedi. (he has a second account).

THis wonderful guys sends me a tell and asks if i am busy knowing that i am a weaponsmith and master artisan he is always very polite and understanding. He is my best client bc he lets me have free reign with him when i see him lol.

Anyways I told him no actually atm i was just cleaning up the house. He comes to my house with his alt and jedi and we group....at this time i have no clue it's a jedi till he tells me in group. His jedi is a woman and he says i want her to look like me so i can claim her as a sister. Of course this is no problem bc i made notes about him in an email so that i knew where he was on what ie. skin color and hair color..he and i go through the entire thing and i am throwing out change after change and deciding whether or not i like them lol not even worrying about his opinion bc i never let a client leave ugly unless they want to be that way lol. Through out the entire thing he is being so sweet telling me how much he appreciates my time.. after about 50 changes at least i am finally happy with her/his new look and he is too. I knew that he would pay for the services bc he always pays me well, but told him not to worry about it bc he is so good to me. He proceeds to sing my praises lol of course i was loving it . and tips me 100k...my jaw dropped and i was completely floored..i tried to give him back 90k but of course this sweetie wanted nothing to do with it lol. I just was so happy lol not only bc of the huge tip, but bc I am so lucky to have a client like him.. I just wanted to share this with you all because i wanted you to know well the new ones that there are terrific people out there who understand what it's like to try and make a living at this. This is so nice to know bc at times there are jerks out there who whine, and moan and groan and then tip you 1k for a full body change lol

It's the good ones that always make it worthwhile in the end. If only there were more like that on all the servers. I consider myself blessed to have such a great group of friends and regular players on Test Center who are fantastic like that too.

Oi... I got a good one too..


So I'm in the new ID tent in Theed. Occasionally I like to play around semi-roleplay for no good reason, and sure enough I didn't miss the chance. I pretended to 'calibrate' one of the terminals in an attempt to get it working.


Just as I exhasperatingly give up (I knew the changes weren't today but it's always fun to play around) a large wookie enters the tent. We greet, and he asks for my assistance. See, he was ashamed of his fur... and wanted to look more like his pink freinds (us humans, for those who wonder)


Well I sat him down right there and we got to work. He asked if I could make him blue, so as not to intimidate his freinds. I let him know that, unfortunately, the ban on unnatural perma-dyes placed by the Imperial Government wouldn't be lifted for a few weeks yet. Of course, conversation inevitably drifted to the terminals. He asked what they were for. I told him it undoubtedly had to do with some new fashions from the outer rim, but that since I didn't have a permit to operate them yet, I couldn't rightfully say what they did.


(I may mention that, up front, this Wookie payed me 10k. I never even asked him, and on Sunrunner that is a good tip for an ID)


In the end we settled on a cinnamon-colored fur pattern and a eye contact set I call 'Mako' blue(apparently after Mako Spince, Nar Shadda's traffic controller, but to any FF fans out there, YOU know...)


All in all it was a pleasent time, and one of the most laid back and in-character jobs I've ever done. The kind Wookiee sir is now on a list of people who have asked to contact me again when the 'ban lifts'.

I was once tipped 300k for a makeover on a jedi. One of my repeat customers and good friend of mine. (Who ALWAYS overtips and will never take it back) Unfortunately, after I got the tip the server crashed and did about a 20 minute rollback! Oh well, I don't like charging friends but she will NOT let me ID her for free. I did that day though because after I changed her she just wanted to go back to the way she was. So she got to keep her money hehe


I have also been tipped 50k, 100k, and 220k however these are extremely rare and instead I usually get "Do you charge?" or "Do I owe you something?" But so goes the life of an ID heh.


PS: I LOVE my new plastic surgeon title

My full body changes are 70k (about 40k savings over individual changes). I had to make this guy look good for his girl. Despite many differences over what looked good, she tipped me 300k lol. Needless to say, i was elated.

Time to resurrect and bump this thread I think. What with all the posts flying all over the place about the new feature that have finally gone live, I think taking a step back to remember why we are here might not be such a bad idea for any and all of us.


So, late last night I'm sitting in the Allseeing Fish Cantina catching up on some some of my e-mails and getting ready to log on out for the night. It'd already been a tiring day what with moving my house from Talusto Naboo and resetting all the furniture and decoration, when I get a /tell along the lines of "I need a quick body color change, where might I find you?"


Strike one, he didn't ask if I was available or willing. Countering that though was the implicit willingness to travel to me. So I told him where I was at and that I wasn't going to be hanging around much longer due to being tired,but if he hurried I'd be happy to help. I get a great, he'll be with me in about 10 minutes (and he was on time ) and asked if I could make him green (he told me he was human). Well, I sighed and politly informed him that green wasn't an option. Now I fully expected a response of "oh, well never mind." Instead he said he just wanted to be "freaky" and "wierd" looking so if I could work with him a bit he'd be ever so grateful.


Against my better judgement and fearing the worst (a long session that would end up being refused in the end) I agreed. So he shows up and we get to work. What we ended up with after about 10 minutes was as stark white as I could make him and bugged his eyes out and turned them orangy-green. Even tweaked a few other sliders (mainly nose (all sliders to minimum...even for wanting to be freaky that's too freaky ) ) He offers up 10k which I was fine with and he goes off gushing about how wonderful I am and that he's gonna remember me for any future work.


During the process we laughed and joked about the changes, I got a bit on the character backstory and why he wanted to be wierd looking and etc.


All in all it as a really nice end to an exhausting day. It reminded me of why I do this. I like making people happy. Even amongst all the past and current annoyances with the profession, when a session goes right, I just feel good for hours afterwards.
