Thread: Is it a trend or was it just Monday?
How are you doing it?
Do you just ask them if they want something, or do you start clicking around the new hair and eye colors?
When I do that I always get them to at the least want a new eye color, usually something else too.
And diffrent locations make a diffrence too, which tent are you at?
Theed seems to be the busiest.
I dunno... Been having a hard time finding an "onduty"ID the last couple days myself. I was wondering if some of it wasn't backlash for all the negativity IDs have gotten, in general, from all the angry people that can't do their own stats anymore.
I mean, one guy walked up to Xian this weekend and he was already mad and he says, "So what are you charging for your damn 10 minutes? 100k? 50k?" (He's a Master Commando Zabrak)
I had been just out killing and skinning innocent eopies, working on Novice Fencer and just happened to run by the shuttleport in Eisley when he said this. I had forgotten my ID title was even on. Now I thought, "Gee. I started working on ID on launch day with this char. I paid NPCs for all my training because I am a casual player and searching around for a player to train me just takes more time than I have. And I grinded artisan and destroy missions to get the money to pay for training and muon and then the astronomically priced brandy to finally finish up to Master only a month or so before this latest ID publish. And I have been stiffed on payment for an ID more times than I can count. And I like doing ID so much despite all this that all but one of my alt chars has a little or a lot of ID skills. And here's this guy yammering at me about rude IDs and outrageous prices for something that used to be free and..."
My Grandma always told me, "Kill them with kindness." And any female raised Old Southern Belle style knows how lethal a tactic this is. ![]()
So I sent him a tell. /tell Rude Angry Guy: "Hon, for you, it's free. Follow me to Bestine. 10 minutes and you are on your way."
I bought a ticket to Bestine and hopped on the shuttle before he could reply. When he arrived at the tent, there was no one else there. He still hadn't said anything. I asked him if he was ready. He was. While we waited on the timer I asked him if he'd seen the holoemotes. He had. Wasn't impressed. What about the new Vampire Cults? Seen them, not impressed. Goth look? Not impressed. So I sat there idly chattering about a Zabrak I saw on another server with the whole Skeleton look going on, Skull tats, black and white tactical skinsuit and how creepy yet cool that looked... and he decided to try that look. And he actually smiled and said, "Cool. Thanks."
10 minutes are up. He's got his stats moved and he's a Skull. I tell him to have a nice day and run off to go get revenge on more eopies. About 5 minutes later I got a 30k bank tip from him. And about 30 minutes later a tell from someone he referred to me.
Hmm. I gave him an attitude adjustment along with that stat migration. ![]()
On the other hand, I have an alt on Corbantis that I simply forgot to double check her eye color on creation and I want her green eyes blue. Heh. Think I can find an ID to do a simple eye color change? Nope. Every time I log in there, sitting in the ID tent, no one is there. I run over to the cantina next door, and no one will admit to being able to do eye colors. What's up with that? Do a prof search - no one comes up? Have all the angry people made all the IDs turn off titles and search?
I'm going ID with that char too, but it will be eons before I can do eye color, with the limited, casual play time I have and the new timer. /cry What's a Blue Twi gotta do to get blue eyes around there?
I think more people messed with their stats a lot more than was perhaps thought to be true and with prices for that as high as they are right now, I think it's put off not only the customers, but a lot of the other IDs too. Why go sit in a tent to be bored 80% of the time, harangued 50%, and delighted 20%? For tips? Hmmm.
Will anyone go see an ID lower than Novice? Master? Idread the long slow grind to at least novice ID when most customers want nothing more than stat migration and IF they want a makeover, they want the wholemenu to choose from, not just a sampler platter. /sigh
Maybe it was just Monday Blues.
