Hello I am new to the whole ID world and was just wondering if there are any new tactics/strategies to go by doing it these days. I'm not really concerned about getting it done fast like you used to be able to (not a hologrinder, just a profession grinder kind of).

I was just curious if you only get XP for doing it on others, or can you work on yourself as well...just any general help on the profession would be cool, really looking forward to this profession because I've been stuck in a cantina for a few weeks now doing Entertainer and Musician....so any change is a good change

The XP gain system is a little mess-upped right now, sense publish 8.1. they wanted to increase how long it takes to master IDing, it was 30mins and they did a little overkill and it now 100+ hours I farly confandent it will change. So you should just wait untill it does. (likely in publish 9)

Good Hunting

Yes, you can get exp for IDing yourself. You get twice as much for IDing others, but the chance of you doing that before Novice ID status varies according to the whims of fate and the strength of the ID community on your server. My own experience on my way up the entertainer tree has so bar been that only oneperson has completed an ID session with me. That wasa kind Master ID who allowed me to practice on him for a while. Of course this means that I have had no income from my time spent IDing. I recomend practicing in the tents provided for the IDs,doing sohalves the timer.

SOE, think about every non-Jedi "cancelled" signature you've seen, and remember that there will be more as you forget the communities that makes this game's heart and soul. Entertainers, Crafters, Hybrids, Non-Jedi Combats, and Smugglers. When you are closing shop on SWG, remember that you ignored the REAL community to cater to an alpha class that assured this game would never be "balanced."

I got the first box in ID so far, and that was a good amount of work in itself....I'm a wookiee, so I am still unable to do anything with myself at the moment...Hopefully I'll have more luck with doing so soon. Thanks for the advice....I asked a lot of people in game and they also told me to wait until the next patch. Once again thanks for the help and best of luck.

I'm recently returned to SWG. Ican't remember what boxes I have filled in, but I'm past getting novice and have Ithink it ranges from 1 to 3 depending on which line we're talking about.

I did tailoring from the ground up plying my trade and selling clothes. Backpacks, dusters, whatever I could make and still sell was what I xp'd on. I never ground anything. (Yes it was far easier back with a fresh server.)

I really like playing that way, but is it possible with Image Design? Are there certain "trees" that are more marketable than others? I'm a Twi'lek and it feels like I can do absolutely nothing with my current skills. It seemed like fast or slow that grinding was the only way to get anywhere with the skill.

I've found them most marketable in this order ---> Hair, Face or Body, Markings. Good luck to you
