Pronouncing the 'aw' instead of just an 'o' makes saying the word that much more fun. It's like you're really getting to appreciate the 'yow' in seeing a hawt (whatever), in the pants or no.
Go on, say it. It's more fun to say, honest!

I think its for the same reason that everything has to be 'uber' or 'elite' or even worse '3lit3' or however some folks write this...
Compared to all that nonesense 'hawt' is rearly pretty harmless

Nah, it has nothing to do with leet spellings. As someone else mentioned, the purpose of the intentional misspelling is to change the pronunciation slightly—it's kind of like saying day-um! Simply a textule conceit to bring across an added emphasis to a certain sylable.

Heh…if you think Fette's Vette is where Hawt started…
…actually, I'm pretty sure Balgosa used that as a tribute to Clytemnestra, AKA n'Jessi. She did all the tailoring for that video, and if you've ever been to our shop on TestCenter you'll've noticed that the one clothing article we always rename are Hot Pants. Really, the devs spelled it wrong in the schems—it's Hawt Pants.
