Thread: Random things of interest to Image Designers
Haden - We have taken the non-combat types into account...
Haden - When you become Force Sensitive, you path to becoming a Jedi starts in what we're calling the "Village."
Haden - The village has a whole background that ties into the history of the Jedi, and is populated with NPCs that give you quests.
Haden - You don't have to complete all of them, and there are quest progressions for different types of players.
justG - Look for more info on the village soon on In Concept
Haden - So, combat-heavy players will be able to go on combat-centric quests.
Haden - And artisans will have crafting quests, all tied into a storyline revolving around this village.

MonroeThanes:Will one of the new races have blue skin, red eyes, and black hair? Hehe I’ve really got my fingers crossed for Chiss.
Thunderheart says: Nope. (Aww)

Unfortunately that falls on the same week as my due date (I'm pregnant for those who don't know) and I won't be able to make it.
Wow, congo rats there mommy ![]()
There is no content that I know of planned for most of the current professions (including combat ones) in JTL. Image Designers in particular however will (I imagine though I haven't confirmed) be able to modify the two new species. JTL is the space stuff they wanted to put in the original game but couldn't and so this seems to me akin to mounts and player cities, rather than an expansion in a true sense. Now the correspondent conference with the devs will specifically be targeted at discussing the combat balance, but all corrs are invited. We're really the greatest stretch of any professionto be considered combat support except maybe merchants

Okay, let me see if I understand this. According to one of TH's answers, JtL is going to be nothing but combat-based. We, the entertainer/artistic professions, have been told that much of our content wish lists must be postponed because of the art intensiveness of JtL. Now we're told that not only was "our" dev time allocated to JtL, but that JtL will have nothing for us. Am I the only onefeeling like I just got the double backhand?
When I say combat, us, etc. I don't mean current professions, I mean current playstyles. There are those of us that enjoy it all—crafting, socializing, exploring, killing…but it's pretty clear which playstyle gets the most dev time in this game, and it's such a shame with how revolutionary it is in simply including things at all for the others. I hate the fact that I feel like the devs are trying to herd me into a combat-only role, despite enjoying combat. I just wish there was equal emphasis placed on the other non-combat/non-combat-support professions and playstyles.

That said all correspondents have multiple professions and lend advice andcomments where needed to other corrs and almost all do at least some combat. Then of course there is the fact that most professions have some role in combat support. I'm a dud there too
I just surrendered my four Brawler boxes I had on an alt.

I understand where you're coming from. And know that alternate playstyles in particular are very often discussed in the corr forum by those of us that play the non combat professions (which includes many combat corrs). Really Icontribute towards orinitializevarious types of discussions on the corr forum: ID, Entertainer in general, Merchant, Tailor, gamer girl stuff, casual playstyles, social playstyles, non-combat playstyles, crafting, random bugs/issues in the game... There was a time when honestly anyone could see that the majority of dev time was being spent on combat, but there is more of an awareness now of the needs of other playstyles. ID enhancements were definitely a good start
How much of a minority among the players are we
That said, JTL is it's own animal and we'll have to see how it pans out. I've personally never had an interest in twitch space games, but I'll still try the beta if I'm invited and see what's what. That said, there are combat playstyle types out there that aren't fond of twitch games either. The draw I suppose is going to be the Star Warsiness of combat and travel in space.
As far as the conference, someone will represent our ID interests. As soon as Ihave some infoI'll share it
Bwahahhahahah
