What would be nice is if Image Designer's could craft a Plastic Surgeon device that could be sold and used, like the Vehicle Customization kits that Artisans can craft. Only Master ID's could craft them, they could be for multiple uses before disappearing and they would get the exact amount of XP that the device is used for. For example, John Doe buys a device from a Master ID. It has 4 uses. John changes his hairstyle...boom, the ID gets 25 XP. He then changes his cheeks...125 XP to the ID.
You get the picture. It would be a great way for SWG to promote ID's, it would make the ID's some extra money, it would provide XP's with the same experience as if visited in person, and it allows characters to change their appearance at any time without having to seek out a Master Image Designer - just buy it at a bazaar or shop. I don't know, I think it would make the services of an Image Designer be more in demand, and give a perk to the ID who made Master.
Somebodymight have already had this idea, so I apologize in advance if I didn't see their post.

While this idea would be convenient for the general populace, I would be against it.
Image designing is the most social profession, because it requires consent and communication between the artist and client.
The fun for me as an IDer is the personal interaction. I also enjoy trying things out on various people that reflect their personality. (What ID doesn't like when someone comes up and says "I want a change...here's my background, change whatever you like and go to town!")

I have to agree. I understand how this could make image design more convenient for the customer, and perhaps put higher demand on our skills, I really don't care for the idea quite so much.
I'm very fond of doing image design the way I do. I like the personal aspect of this profession, and I wouldn't want to give up conversing with my clients. The other problem I have, is that I'm really not very fond of crafting, and I don't care to see this profession turn into a crafting profession.
Not to say it's a bad idea, because it certainly has merits, but it's not something I would care to get involved with.
