I had gone to best buy a few weeks ago looking to purchase Jump to Lightspeed. So instead of coming home with JTL, I came home with a new character. After a few weeks of deciding on professions for her (along with grinding my main to pilot and shipwright) I have settled on Image Desginer as one profession.

So far, I am at 1/0/0/0 entertainer with 2700 experience towards my 2nd box, which requires 5000 exp. I figure I will do an hour or a bit more a night until my character is Master ID. At the moment, I am image designing my main character's lekkus. I can get 100 experience every 2 mintues doing this, and at this rate i'd get 3000 an hour. But this would be at 100% efficiency, and I am far from 100% efficient. I forget to actually move the lekku once i bring up the screen and I end up waiting my 2 mintues, accepting the ID and not changing a thing, thus getting zero experience.

I figure that once I get novice, I can do stat migrations and 1 hour a night will net me 12000 experience, needing 400k for master, thats about a month to master. But getting the remaining 37300 experience to even get novice will take me about another week. I am wondering if there is a list that details various experience that one can get to move to the novice box at a slighly faster rate. Even getting 110 exp per ID would make a pretty big difference.

Well first of all... STOP! Timers are reduced on TC now, so my best guess is that will get pushed to live mid-next-week (things usually hang out on TC for about a week). That will cut your grind time in half.

Now... are you in a tent? Timers are cut in half in a tent.

Have you tried recruiting a friend to help you? You get double xp on a friend. (If you have 2 accounts, this will work too).

Once you get to ID 3, you can change eye color - that gives you more xp.

But above all else - do something else for another week! Reduced timers should be hitting live soon, and that will cut your grind in half.

thanks NJ. all my friends have been giving me false info lol. they told me that nothing special happens in a tent. I do have 2computers, so I have been ID'ing my main characters lekkus and my doc's hair. I'll have to start working on her eyes, cause with the scarcity of ID's these days, I dont wanna mess with my twi'leks eyes cause who knows if and when i'll ever get them changed back to the right colors.

also, i am fully aware of the changes that are on TC now, but i dont really care cause im only putting in an hour or 2 a night. im obviously in no rush, and ID is a new venue that is totally untapped for me. experience is experience, and right now i need a minor break from killing imperials in kessel.

one of the biggest complaints i see in this game, is people say there's nothing to do. people limit their views to their specific expectations and dont look at the big part of the picture. i had to grind entertainer for a holo prof (back in 10/03), but i've never touched any of the elite professions that branch off of the entertainer tree. i just finished master pilot and shipwright a few days ago, so im looking for a new profession to try out. plus, all the IDs that know me go crazy, cause im pretty much your nightmare customer. i get this idea in my head that i want my twi'lek changed to short, maybe new eyes, maybe have her lekkus moved. after about 30 mintues and a few changes, i'll take a look and decide that the original look was best, and then i have to have everything changed back to normal. anyway, ty for the advice, i'll have to try out an id parlor. by the time the timers hit TC2, then i will probably be close to novice by then.

The good thing about the reduced timers is, that it helps with all stages of being an Image Designer... It more than doubles your xp-ratio in the average and once you reach Novice ID and thus will be able to migrate stats, your customers will be more happy, too, since they don't have to hang the full 10 minutes with you anymore (once the reduction is patched to the live servers, too) But even getting there will be far less painfull, since the timers for cosmetic and body changes will be reduced, too.

And as NJ has stated, residing in one of our nice salons (I still call them prisons of style ) cuts the timers by half again (except for the migration). This means changing your haircolor will take mere 30 seconds instead of 1 minute and the still 'popular' eyecolor-change will take 1 minute instead than 2 and a half. So all in all getting to master once the reduction goes to live isn't as painfull as it used to be. It's still a lot of work of course, so everyone mastering ID now can still be proud having achieved something

May the Force be with you all!

go to the site on my sig hun if you dont have a ID macro already. I have a whole page dedicated to macros ive used in my gaming experience. It is 100% leagal macros, no 3-rd party crap. There is one macro for the ID that all you ahve to do is click the SM box and wait 10m (or change eyecolor and wait 155sec), and two macros for your "victim" to run simultaneously. This is the fastes way to grind, but if the timer will be reduced next week, you could be MID by then if you grind your heart out for like 12 hours a day, or you could just wait for the timer reduction. LOL ... best of luck to ya.

thanks, i got Eye color at ID2 and im close to 6k into ID 3. at this rate i'll have 25k to to till novice if i can finish ID3 tonite. thats probably 3 days of work. its pretty necessary that I make sure i eventually get master ID cause with all these changes i've done, i'll need to "undo" them somehow
