So, what about our pricing?
I thought about this as soon as I heard about the timers getting reduced on the TC. Does anyone think this will majorly impact the way that we do pricing?
Part of the reason I charge what I do is A) takes ten minutes and B) I'm a master ID.
I'm certain that the timers getting changed will change both of those things. I'll be happy if there are more IDs, certainly! And I'll be happy about it taking less time.
But . . . I can't help but think that this is going to cause some fluctuation in our pricing for a time. I hope that it doesn't affect pricing too much.
What does everyone else think?

I am going to cut my stat migration prices in half. My former price was based on my time, and now it's less time. No doubt my customers will be happier.
As for the rest, I always worked off tips, and a hair color change is a hair color change whether it takes 1 minute or 2. Also, during a complex ID session with a client, I more often than not ran down the timer, so I think aesthetic work will not be impacted much, unless you're doing a "quickchange" like lipstick.

My fee for stat migrations will definately be dropping when this timer goes through. The fee was totally based on the levels of insane boredom involved with the interface blocking my screen for 10 very long minutes.
My other services will not be affected. As N'Jessi points out, most aesthetic consultations are longer than the timers.

My stat migrate changes will definately get cut- most likely by half. Unfortunately, this may force me to charge set prices for appearance changes (before I was working for tips only), to help bolster the lack of money coming in, as I was often getting paid very little for appearance only changes.

I also foresee no change to my pricing for real ID work as I have always told my customers to pay what they think is fair for those changes, but will likely cut my prices for stat migrations in half, so 5k for my Novice on Eclipse and 10k for my Masters on Bria, Corbantis, Intrepid, Lowca, Scylla and Tempest once this change hits Live. As I told one customer, I charge for the time... if the time drops, so will my prices.

I had a pretty high price for stat migration mostly because of the timer, I will offer it now for much less. 4 minutes doesn't seem as horrible as 10 minutes. I might even get enough courage now to go and try again for Master with these new timer changes. The rest I did for tips, so no change there.

wow You know Kuari most have a real weird economy, or a severe shortage of ID'ers. I only ask for tips on image, and for the most part on Stats too unless I am pulled away from something. Anyway we get quite a few people who don't think twice about dropping 10-25k for simple cosmetic changes

Heh, in my experience the average customer for real ID work has always been more generous than the average customer for a stat migration. I have been paid 100k just for a hair color change. This is why I am content to tell my clients that I only have a set fee for stat migrations and to pay what they think it's worth for any other changes.

I was wondering whether the solo grouping change will effect what people are willing to pay as well. I think we'll see a big shift in economy soon (for the better I think) and have to adjust.
I'm glad the timers are getting reduced at such a strategic moment. /ponder

Oh I'm sure our fellow players will not be shy to complain how few cash they now get with their missions and all that... Ok, they forget to mention that they got several million creds on the bank, but well... *shrug*
Of course this is a bit overdone, but I still explect a lot of groans and complains from exactly that kind of player that won't need to run missions at all for lets say 2 or 3 years and still would have cash left on the bank. I hope this change will help to normalize the economy given some time. Inflation is really a problem and not only because of the last massive credit dupe exploit thingy dingy. I have the feeling that without something to lower the rate of 'generation' of creditsit won't be long and credits won't be accepted anymore as payment byplayers... they would start trading items again... maybe on the basis of force crystals or skill tapes or something like that. Reminds me of Diablo 2 a bit... hehe.
Lets hope it does not come down to this.
