Hey all,
Since I had a REALLY bad experience and then a REALLY good one, I figured I'd share. The bad one wasn't one that made me want to stop playing, of course, but just kinda makes you appreciate when the good ones come around. Do you guys have any stories of a really bad followed up by a really good?
First issue:
I haven't even finished logging in to Mos E and get a big shiny tell from someone wanting a complete makeover. I asked what he wanted. "I wanna look like Anakin in Ep3". ::rolls eyes:: I explain that I will do my best, however, since I will have to find a picture of him on the internet and go back and forth between the game and my web browser, it would be a 50k job if it took 15 minutes or less. Told him if it was between 16 and 30 minutes, it would be 100k. "But I'm saving up for ___whateverFOTMarmor___!" I explained that I'm paid for my time and that if he really wanted me to do this, I'd do it. He said "Okay, I'll go for the less than 15. ::rolls eyes:: I quickly get a couple of shots and go back and forth. Meanwhile, he's asking me a bazillion questions, and going on about being a jedi and kicking people's arses. Yeah, whatever, I'm trying to work here. He's telling me I'm lame for not wanting to be a jedi and he thinks I'm lying when I say I have zero desire to be a jedi. Whatever dude...I don't say anything but keep working, nodding in appropriate places.
12 minutes in...the session CANCELS. I look over and he's AFK. *grumble* I stand there and try to find out what's going on, pissed that I wasted this time and he CANCELS. I see the AFK go away and ask again. "Oh, did I do that?". He drops group and runs away "I gotta go kill something!". I sent him a /tell asking for at least some payment for my time and he never responds. Do I ignore him? Heck no, he's ON my friends list. MUahahahaah! I have plans for him later. (yeah, my fault for not getting half up front)
So...shortly before I logged last night, I receive an email. The guy says he has a special job and he's not found anyone to do it. He wants to send a RL email with pictures of what he wants and offers to pay big credits for it. I say, Oh, what the heck. Respond back with my price list and terms, 25k up front blah blah blah. He accepts and I give him a throwaway hotmail account. He actually sends me some good little graphics from a comic, I think. I told him it was doable and I'd meet him. He was already in the Cnet salon. I headed over. He /tipped me 30k in good faith and I started working on him. Took about 10 minutes and I gave him some holos. He gave me the rest of the 20k and even /tipped me an extra 10, thanking me the whole time. He was totally nice and completely understood. I told him about the last guy and he said he'd duel and db him if I wanted. ::grin:: I was happy to have made 60k in 10 min doing what I LOVE and picked up a new customer!

had a hecka good experience last night. a guy comes into the cantina i usually hang out in not too long after i put an advertisement deal on the planet chat thinger, right? wants to look more like a yeti. sure, no problem. he's a tiny white wookie because apparently someone had decided it'd be funny to mess him up. i fix him--make him huge, as white as possible, fat, muscle, tiny head with a big nose, the works.
250,000 credit tip. holy. cow.
he basically doubled my bank account. i bowed before him many times for that one, lol.
haven't had any bad ID sessions yet... key word there being yet. (i've only been at this since a couple days before the CU, so i'll give it time, lol).
akiri.

Wow, this is a really tough question for me. Not only because I have so many of each, but also because I have been an ID for so freaking long and I have the memory of a goldfish. So I'll try and stick to recent stuff.
Worst: until recently Fuschia was my master ID, and was also master pistoleer. I had decided to gain some smuggler skills on her as well, and so one morning was out running around killing stuff on Endor. I came back to Theed long enough to get some training and was at the ship terminal getting ready to fly back out when someone POKES me in the ribs. Now first of all, I hate that. It's a rude way of getting someone's attention, especially when you don't know them. So I /stared at him and then left. When I landed on Endor, I had a message waiting for me: "hi r u an id". Well, Fuschia wears no title, just her rank, and is anonymous, so I knew he had either gotten my name from someone else or was just asking everyone he saw. From the way he phrased his question I guessed it to be the latter. So I said "Yes, but I'm busy right now with some other things, can it wait a little while, or can I refer you to another ID?" He said "no i relly need id now come back." I hate hate hate that. First of all, I don't travel for clients,EVER. If you want ID work, you will come to me. Period, end of story. Second, if I'm busy, I'm not the type to stop what I'm doing for someone rude enough to ask me to, let alone TELL me. So I very simply told him "no, I won't be working on you, now or ever." He started begging "plz plz i relly need it plz plz plz". Thank God for /addignore, eh?
Best: I actually got to give Ava's husband a new look. He's looked exactly the same since launch, and I had gotten very accustomed to his look. He let me give him a makeover (and a sammich, the boy was at minimum weight, bless his heart) and while I'm still getting used to it, I LOVE it. And so does he. It was really nice to be trusted to make over a character who hasn't changed his looks since character creation.

Isn't that cool? We had a Swedish guild which was breaking up, merge with ours. They had all been playing together since launch and *none* of them had ever had an ID session in all this time. They were all amazed at what one little ID could do for them.
