for me from day one i said "10k more or less, ok" it always works caus they dont cancle if ther poor and asc me if less is ok i rarly take less than 5k. for the rich ones i get the mor tip.

I don't ever state an amount, and I rarely get less than 10k for my work. I just tell them to tip what they think is fair. It usually ranges between 10k - 100k.

Well, the first thing to remember...your answer will be based on which /server/ you reside. On Gorath, we don't have many full-tim IDs like myself. So, I get paid quite a bit, actually. My prices are pretty negotiable and I do work in trade, unless someone is a jerk. I also don't charge entertainers, for the most part, unless I know they're just waiting to turn the XP into FS points. ::grin:: If they're a true entertainer, they always get it free. So do repeat customers and guildmates. I also give discounts for people who come saying "So and so sent me".

As a Master Image Designer, I command a higher fee. I've invested a lot of time into my craft and my prices reflect this. I am usually quite busy and rarely visit a Salon. If you are looking for my services, most likely you have encountered me while I'm currently busy. These prices include my time/effort/expense in traveling to your location and/or changing my current plans.
Base prices, but they're negotiable if you are nice. Be a jerk and they double:
1k for one simply change if you know what you want. (hair, eyes, body, holo etc).
5k for mulitple changes if you know what you want.
10k for one change if you have to go through all palettes
50k for multiple changes if we go through all the palettes and items

Thanks guys. Really appreciate the info. I think i'm going to go with 10k base rate. Reason i posted this ws because there are people on my galaxy of tempest who are nice, but there is this one girl in particular, she wants her image changed every day. One day she wanted a mirror image of another girl there, and i told her no i wouldnt do it. Well I told her tip what u feel is appropriate, well she hasnt tipped in 2 sessions. I know its my fault for letting it happen thats why i watned to ask the advise of my fellow ID's so my alt can appropriately handle it.

That has got to be one of my biggest pet peeves as an ID. I'll do it if I have the permission of the person my client wants to look like, but if someone comes to me and says 'hey i like the way so and so looks, make me look just like 'em'... uh-uh. I had someone do that with me - they asked an ID friend of mine to make them look like me - and it is infuriating! I work really hard on my look and I like being unique. (Well okay two of a kind, Ava has a twin sister

The only time I'll ID two characters to lookidentical is if I knowthey're the same person, justalts.

I'm not that strict about it. I won't do it if I don't have the model's permission, but there are times (such as my twin and I) when two people WANT to look the same. If the person my client wants to look like doesn't mind, who am I to turn down easy credits?

I know of people who charge/regularly receive up to millions. Insane. I'm sorry, I'm an EXCELLENT ID but my services simply are not worth that much. If people want to GIVE me that that's fine
but no way would I ever charge that kind of money for anything I do. Hell, I don't even have set prices.

I charged 100k for stat migrations, because I didn't want to do them. No one actually paid that much, however.
I gave plenty of Novices the business instead since I didn't need it.

i want nuts when i saw spam from a mid 100k per session. i /tell him u havent gotten any ay that rate have you, hes sait ive made 600k today. he /tells me i masterd id to make money and get rich... oh that mekes me sooo mad.

I wouldn't do anything for anyone for under 5k. It was a 5k charge just to get my time and then costs on top of that for whatever it was they wanted.
IDing and making clothes takes time, if I'm not getting something worthwhile for that time why bother, I say.
Except for new players. New players I would do whatever for free. But there are too many veterans ingame who are cheapskates. So it was either tip above the amount, or at least my minimum asking price.
