Thread: Possible Method for solving the Player city tent dilemna

This was an idea i had and it might be worked to a question if enough people support it. The devs have said no to player city id tents.... what if we were allowed to register our houses or in some way change them like the public private changes in such a way as to let them work like an ID tent. Its not like the tent artwork is what makes this driven. I for one would be willing to pay higher maintenance if it meant i didn't have to stay in theed after just finishing up my salons looks. It would also let us truly utilize the entry fee. Sort of a down payment regardless of what changes we make to insure we get some compensation for our time. (this would have to watched as people will complain they paid and nobody was home but why they would enter an empty house is beyond me . It would make it so no new structure was needed to be built and make it a master ID only function (or at least high level). Maybe even require us to install those terminals to make it actually function. (purchasable from an ID trainer if they dont want to add a crafting element). It would cut down on all the artwork and they crafting.

Im assuming that the ID tents function in the sense that any player within a certain (x,y) range of the ten would recieve the benefits. Wouldn't it be possible to simply have that range be redirected to the already existant range used for determining when your inside a structure. The only difference (that i in my limited programming knowledge) would be the location of that range.

Lemme know what peoples think.

I think it sounds wonderful. Btw...I'm gonna take Moenia tomorrow. *blanks on the name of the ID from the Foxy Guild* says she's going to hang out in Theed I think.

Sounds like a very interesting idea. I like it. =)

The only problem i see with there being an entry fee is this...Peoplemight feel that they wouldn't have to pay you for your services having already paid you for entry.

I love this idea as I've had a salon on Lok (FarStar) since I moved there.
I'd also think it would be a great selling point to have a terminal in out
salon/houses. I know a lot of my guildies also thought it was cool and wanted
to have one intown. If for nothing else than how it would look in my salon.

I would hate to have to constantly sit in a tent offworld to give people the
extra benefits. Most of my customers are also residents of Lok and to caravan
over to a tent costs between 1.6-1.7K just for the ticket to Bestine or Theed.

I wonder if the Devs realize that while we love ID, we don't really want to be
shackled to a tent. I love being a MID and won't give it up, but it would be
nice for a compormise on the ID tent dilemma.

How about this idea...

Just make it so DE's can make droids with a Image Designer terminal module. Why not? They got droids that help every other profession now.

I like the droid idea as well, but it means running outside whenever you want to get it out. Besides logically ID should take some tools and other things and it would make mroe sense to have it happen in our buildings where our tools are available.

In response to teh entry fee issue: Simply let your custoemrsknow that if they have any chnages made the entry fee will be subtracted from the overall fee (if you charge) or cover a basic tip (so that they cant leave you with nothing )
