This is going to be an unpopular post lol. After attending Cantina Crawl 6 I redirected my Mon Cal from being and Architect/Droid Engineer to becoming an Entertainer/Musician. My Master ID on Wanderhome made master pre-patch with the help of an woderful IDer named Ashinay. Post-patch I was expecting it to be hell.. but it wasn't actually that bad! (hides)
The only thing that really annoyed me was the inability to ID myself as for the first box. Everything else was like butter. I didn't even mind the timer. The Bria salon is a really interesting place. I observed role-playing, duels over attitude, duels over ladies attention, met some really awesome IDs (like Daishiki) and some really nasty ones (who shalt remain unamed). After addignoring the cantina spammers I had an absolutely great time and was at ID IV before I even realized it. Dai allowed me to lurk in her group occasionally and observe how she interacted with customers (which I was nervous about), and I got to figure out what the "social" in social professions was all about.
I guess I never thought that there were actually things to learn in ID. I thought you made master and then learned what you needed to know - what can and cannot can be changed on each species, what to charge, etc. But after my time in the salon I see there is a lot more to learn in order to be a succesful social profession player. Trapped in one room for a long period of time you have to use your mind instead of your mouse button. It was incrediblly interesting and enjoyable. I also learned how to keep track of 4 chat windows at once - Oi!
While I'll go with the flow with whatever you decide about the timer - I personally didn't mind it. Things might change if I decide to go up the actual ID tree on Iosan, but I have enjoyed my leveling experience so far.

I'm really glad you had fun! I may decide to do ID on Bria myself... so I'm glad it wasn't horrible for you.
