I did not come here to start a flame war or to troll so if anyone takes offense to this I apologize and will leave this topic alone, but I had a few questions.
I did ID for the holo-grind and thought it was pretty neat, something I might go back to after the ever elusive Jedi bug had fled. Unfortuately your revamp came and made making Master ID very difficult to say the least. It was too much effort for the payout, in my opinion. So my question is this:
Are ID's in general happy with the change? Please think about that answer before you respond. I know people that are already masters will say yes, the less ID's there are the more business for them. Think of it in terms of if you had to grind it the way it is now, would you do it?
And my second question is:
I didn't ID for a long time, but I did have my tag up there when I didn't realize you kept your title even when you dropped your skills. It was up there for probably a 3 weeks to a month. Somsone sent me a tell asking for a change, that's when I realized my tag was up there. It took a month for someone to actually want to use me, so is the payout worth the grind that it is now?
Again I'm not trying to offend anyone, if I do just a simple post to say these questions aren't appropriate will suffice.

I'm a Master ID, so by your logic I should just ignore the first question, but to the second I'll say this:
If you actually had fun doing it before, then why worry about the grind now? Yes, you'll get more business, if that's what you want to know. But if you're dreading the thought of "the grind" then maybe you shouldn't do it until you're really interested? Or concentrate on something else and just practice ID here and there rather than trying to grind it out?

1) I am master, but you get my answer anyway
. The current time to master looks like an over-correction. The rate of advancement did need some lengthening, but it's currently a bit too long in my opinion, unless other professions get changed to have similiar time restraints. I think it's a better situation than it was in the past, but it needs to be fixed all the same. As a whole, I think most people are rather upset at the timer in its current arrangement.
2) Mostly, it's a quirky matter. You will find more people pursuing you [often at times when you don't want to be pursued] thanks to Stat Migration. I never had the trouble finding clients that you did, but I lived in cantinas for a while with my ID title up, and I got requests fairly frequently [before the PC destruction of 90% of the cantinas].

I have mastered ID before the mini-publish, that took me a day or two, then after the mini-publish I dropped it, because I got fed up with stat migrations and most of all my customers. Then I decided I wanted it back, so I set myself to the task of grinding to MID again. It took me just about forever, even with the help of a couple of friends. I was 4031 when the stat migration xp went up, after that it went a lot faster, but still it is a very long and boring grind.
That said, I love being an ID again, and that's really the only reason I'm doing it, not to make a lot of money or something. If you like it, then that's all the reasons you need, if you don't like it, then what reasons could there be to do it?

1) Yes, the way to MID is very long and hard now. But in my opinion the current way really makes it worth carrying the title of Master ID. Before mini-publish 8.1 every stupid.... er... kiddo could get master ID within a few hours. Now you actually need to work for it and yes, it can be pretty boring at times. But I am very pleased with the 'revamp'. I especially like the new great ID-interface allthough it definitly needs some more adjustments to be perfect.
2) You get lots of customers as ID now, though most of them will most likely ask for stat migrations. But now that most players actually know that we IDs are there and that we can make em look really cool many come back for realy ID-stuff, too.
May the Force be with you all!

I currently have 3 MIDs (on Bria, Corbantis and Intrepid) and I just started a fourth character on the path last night. Yes, the grind is long and boring (2 of my MIDs made it to Master before the Publish 9 increase to Stat Migration xp) but I found that, once I made it to MID, the rewards were worth all the pain.
