I got my first holocron tonight, kiddies... a gift from a very generous guild member who doesn't care two figs about the Jedi slot.

I have to master Teras Kasi. *sobs* I HATE unarmed!

I'm not giving up ID for it though... gonna ditch dancer for it eventually. I'm gonna master entertainer first though... only one tree away, I might as well. LOL

I'm not much for the grinding aspect of this game, but at least getting a combat profession is something I can have fun with. And get faction points and maybe finally get an AT ST. LOL

Anyway, just thought I'd inform everyone of that.

Thanks babe.

I can't pretend I'm looking forward to it... but... sigh. I want a Jedi.

You mean you want to be hunted down constantly,,and griefed by every player that catches you with a tef,,pay monstrous prices for crystals and pearls just to have a relatively new sword and go thru the grinding process for jedi exp???

Thanks but no thanks,,the only reason I see that would make opening a slot make any sense at all,,is if you wanted to sell it on ebay!!

I have seen two jedi ,,but only right at the first, since then ,,its more like:

JEDI JEDI ,,wherefore art thou,,,they wanted Jedi to be rare,,now they hide,,and delete the character frequently when too many find out what their name is.

I find it more ironic than anything,,after grinding thru all those professions for all those hours,,and then now finding out its not what they expected,,its almost as if the developers created a cruel joke,,

I'm planning to enjoy it rather than hate the grind. I look at it this way: I will get to try professions I probably NEVER would have tried before, therefore letting me explore parts of the game I've never been exposed to. And if this results in me opening my force sensitive slot, that will allow me to explore even MORE of the game. Frankly, being hunted and tormented as a Jedi is part of the lure for me. The risk, and the excitement it adds, is part of why I want to be a Jedi in the first place.

I will never delete my Jedi. If I get killed, so be it, I'll have to start over. That's also part of the risk. It just means I'll have to be extra careful.

If I get my Jedi, I will BE a Jedi. And I will enjoy it.

You mean you're going to play your jedi... and roleplay a jedi... as the devs intended, instead of whipping out your lightsaber at every starport, yammering all over the forums, and generally being a jerk about it?

LOL!

I've played this game for five months now, and for the last couple I've been debating about whether or not I want to attempt to be a Jedi, because if I do it, it's going to mean a big commitment to the character if I do it right. But I can't help but think of the potential gameplay opportunities it affords.

So yes, I want to play a Jedi character as it was intended, not as it's being played right now... nothing scarier than a group of prepubescent boys with lightsabres. LOL

That's about the only thing that would make me want to die. But I'd do it. Then maybe I could be the hunter before becoming the huntee... LOL

I also recently got a holocron from a friend; basically he just asked 'Hey you want a holocron?'. 'Uh... sure'. *gives holocron* 'I think I just sold my soul or something'.

Not sure if I want to go through the grind - I'm fairly new in the game so I mostly play, not grind - but I used the holocron. 'Image designer'. Jay! Fortunately it's a class I had felt like trying, but when I made my character I made very sure each detail was exactly how I wanted, so I had had little other incentive to try it.

That, and I have yet to see an image designer title, which usually is a bit of a hint of how fun a class is considered.

Now, my friend is a wookie. I broke the news a little carefully.

"Uh.. say, how do you wookies feel about combs, again?"

"What?"

"You don't think you might need a haircut?"

"Huh?"

"Got image designer"

He spent the next DAY, I kid you not, laughing.

So I'm a little curious about what I'm getting into, but hey, it should be fun.

... yes, posting in this thread is a little on the opposite of the original subject, but oddly fitting, considering my friend's response...
