Helloimage designercommunity,

I want to make my alt into an ID/Tailor to get away from the combat and the crafting with high quality resources and was thinking that these two professions would be a good path of escape...

So isID fun? what are your impressions?

any comments or insight is appreciated..

Thank you

well ID is a very fun skill and leveling up used to befun as well, however, with thenew timers gettingID xp is far from fun in my opinion. with the timers ID now takes longer than just about any proffession in game (including BH), and nearly all of it will be spent sitting there twiddling your thumbs waiting for a timer to count down.I wouldpersonally suggest getting tailor first, then doing ID, hopefully before too long the devs will greatly reduce the timer, or greatly increase the XP gained, so that ID won't take a minimum of 60 hours (some calculations I've looked at are around 120 hours, but I've heard 60 as well) and gaining xp won't be the painfully and mind numbingly boring grind it is now.

While in the Entertainer tree, you will be pretty much forced to grind on yourself, which is not fun. Once you get Novice ID you can continue to grind if you choose, which will still not be fun. Or, and I recomend this: Just don't even worry about getting Master and do not grind. You will be novice for a long time perhaps, but you can have fun with it. Most of your customers will likely be stat migrations, so I recomend having a wide varienty of topics at hand to chat about.

Getting ID is the worst skill I've ever done bar none.

But actually working on people and making them look good, I absolutely love it. Same with tailoring.

First off, let me say you picked a wonderful combo of skills in my opinion. My alt is a master id, I have fun with her when using id for personal use on myself or friends. However, a lot of the time in the salons, people can be rather impatient while waiting in line to get ided. That's my biggest problem, people don't like to wait 10mins for you to do this or that. I don't like to rush, being rushed for me isn't fun. So instead of waiting for you to finish one client some of them like to /t you "are you done yet" "can you id me now" "are you free now" all within 5mins. That seems to happen to me each time I'm in the salon. However, you can also meet some really nice people.

My main is a Master ID/Master Tailor/Merchant and I've really enjoyed the combination. When someone comes to you you can customize absolutely everything about them, giving them an entirely different look if they so wish There is exp gain to consider of course. ID I did under the old system and it took me 2 months because even though I powerground, I hated doing it so did very little every day Now of course we're looking at a minimum of 62 hours if you can find someone to practice on the entire time. Master Tailor I powerground the last few boxes and here and there, but mostly got it naturally, overall that took me 7 months. Again I hated powergrinding Tailor I know it can be done in a weekend if you do blech. Really in the end it all depends on how much you want the end result. We are hoping for an easing on the ID exp grind, Runesabre says they are evaluating options, so there is some hope it will become a bit more humane I've really loved ID/Tailor, been at it since launch

I thought it was a lot more fun before the publish, even in the midst of all the respect issues that others seem to feel. Before the timers and the stat migration thing, those folks who stuck with it were doing it for the fun and were a fun community. Now, not so much. Not only are there issues between the ID's themselves, but the customers are now angry with the entire profession due to the timers and stat migration... and for the first time I'm actually seeing the respect issues that other's complained about prior to the patch.

So, it used to be fun, but now not so much. Getting to Master sucks and once a Master isn't as fun as it used to be before all the pressure.
