The "grind" caused a huge mess in the galaxies, but now that it is almost over I can't help but to feel sorry for the poor lost souls that so firmly committed themselves to it.

With ID in it's current mess we still have options. Please everyone remember to sit back, look around, take a deep breath and let the exp fall where it may. Our ownroad to Mastery may be anabismally slow crawl, but these folk's road to mere _novice_ has been 'n' times worse by comparison. Don't hate the grinder, but by the same token learn from thier mistakes and skip the grind altogether. ID can be an extreemly rewarding role in the galaxies, but remember that you can always go do something else for a while instead of looking at that ID UI for hours at a stretch. Go dance a bit. Or pick up a slitherhorn.

Remember that in the orriginal "vision" for the unlocking of the FSCS, before it's perversion into the "grind" it eventually became, people were expected to dabble a bit here and there. Go have some fun.

To the Devs: I still think the profession needs drastic changes in order to survive. However I realize that this is a critical time for the Galaxies and the changes to the Jedi systems will have far reaching impact into every facet of PvP and PvE in the entire game. I am willing to cut you guys some slack for a short while, but don't even dream that I or the other IDs here with me will let you forget us.

Thank you, Bri. I have been so wound up in xping ID that I did not read anything about that. I am truly crushed. I've been slogging through ID for the last 2 weeks and now all hope to unlock has been removed. I am seriously crying. I think I'm going to cancel my accounts.

I feel for the poor grinders, but I hate SOE for even putting Jedi in the game in the first place, given the point in the timeline this game is supposed to occupy. Further, after logging to TC tonight and finding that my armor now takes 5 seconds from double-click to actual equip (during which time I'm **self-edit** naked) and that lightsabers do "Lightsaber" damage and nothing I saw is at all resistant to it…I'm very, very sad. BHs are even worse off than they were before. People have even less reason to even come out of their armor. Jedi can now bypass any and all defenses with impunity. And there shouldn't even be any jedi now!!

I'm finding that with every patch and publish there are a few things I like, and many, many things that I absolutely hate. Maybe it's time to go back to the text-only MU*s…at least I'm not paying to have changes that are counter to the stated goals of the game implemented on those.

Easiest profession ever!

with the macro i can master in 30 min if that glitch doesnt keep happening where it says they r already under an image designer.

This really isn't something you should cancel over in my not so humble oppinion. If ID is what the holo has told you to do, I honestly believe that you should just step back, take a few deep breaths, and then do some quests once the Jedi revamp is over. I bet every credit I have and every credit I will make between now and then thatit will be a more rewarding play experience than grinding ID. As for the game being fouled... well we all knew that. We all know that companies like to do thier beta testing under the guise of retail, and yet we still pay them. The fault is ours. Things are going to get more broken before they get fixed, but I am confident that they will indeed get fixed as long as we maintain a vocal community. Untill that day I can only quote the notorious Feris Beauler: "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you just might miss it."

And as for you guys right above me here who are trying to troll: Cut that out, it really isn't the time.

I have to agree with this.

Apparently they also plan to make BHs better too, in order to be able to hunt all the uber-jedi who are coming out and I am afraid that soon the game will be filled with jedi and bounty hunters who dominate all combat and armorsmiths (who would wear clothes with all that overpowered combat?) and weaponsmiths to provide armor and weapons to the bounty hunters. The rest of the professions will be a distant memory (people used to actually play those?). Making the game revolve around all these jedi who are not supposed to exist does more harm than good for this game. I know that it would be hard to get a lot of people to play without the possibility of being a jedi, but jedi should not be so much *more* than other professions. People would be happy to play a jedi for the "coolness" factor alone.

Sigh. I really wish they would have announced the unlocking nerf when they did the minor adjustment to ID. I certainly would not have spent the last 2 weeks sitting ina concentration camp they call the ID tent, but then I wouldn't have spent so many hours reading the forums here. I have true respect for anybody who whole heartedly loves this profession and suspect they may be insane. But in any case, I have enjoyed reading the threads and ached along with you.

My boyfriend really doesn't want to quit playing SWG. And since we've become quite a bit closer as we've played together, I suppose I kind of believe in the superstition that it has been a part of the magic, so don't want to leave. He is encouraging me to continue to pursue whatever professions that interest me (I enjoyed dabbling in professions before opening my first holocron) and if one doesn't suit me, there is no pressure to actually master it, I have the freedom to move on. Although I am burnt out and heart is broken right this minute, I suspect in the next day or two I'll drop all of the hard worked ID boxes and pick up something that doesn't require sitting indoors (guess that means I wont be mastering dancer or musician for a while either).

Good luck to you all and I will continue to help push for fair progression for Image Design. It is intolerable. Make some more noise.
