I happened to be in Bestine last night with my "master ID" tag on last night...my bad. I got like three immediate tells from some poor slobs who desperately needed their stats changed. I felt sorry for them and went to the tent to help out...and got stuck there for absolutely hours listening to players badmouthing SOE over the stat mess. All I could do was agree.

I hate I hate it I absolutely frigging hate it. TEN DAMN minutes on each poor slob with us both just sitting there waiting on the ten minutes only for me it was hours. HOW STUPID for a master IDer.

STUPID STUPID STUPID...SOE ARE YOU LISTENING? and if this gets edited I will be beyond upset.

SOE needs to put back the ability for the players to set their stats and wait 24 hours for them to take. They are totally at the mercy of a passing IDer. Last night in Theed while I was on another character, some poor player was yelling over and over for an IDer to change his stats. All the IDers I knew were in hiding because NO one wants to sit for ten minutes bored out of their skulls.

I probably would not mind nearly as much if I could do this from my own tent in my own city and not in the midst of spammy lagsville. Still, the players need the option of doing it themself.

SOE why do you constantly chop off your nose to spite your face? If you make a stupid mistake, fess up and fix it.

If stat migration wasn't the only way I could get any money I wouldn't do them.

Lastnight azabrak came in to the tent asking for a stat migration. I said I'd do it for 25k. He scoffed and turned to the master ID who said he'd do it for 45k. He then asked why we charged so much when it didn't cost us anything. I explained that it was a time suck and I could get the same amount of xp changing my own eye color in the same time, and I'm guaranteed I won't go afk on myself (oh how I love being locked to somebody who goes afk while doing a stat migration). If you want my time, you gotta make it worthwhile. Don't think I'm totally heartless though. If somebody is obviously new to the game (in starter gear or perhaps bone armor), I will gladly assist them for whatever they feel like offering, including nothing. But somebody decked out in nice gear can certainly afford the time to do a few missions. He turned around and left saying he'd rather wait for his guildie to log on. Doesn't hurt my feelings.

Ok that reminded me of something else that happened.Yes, one of the desperate ones sending me tells, went AFK and I had to sit there waiting for him to come back. Also, even though I warn them, some players will click off the window and we have to start over again. Let me count the ways that SOE has screwed up this new improved way of doing ID. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

The other thing I'm finding is that the type of player who wants stat migrations is really not the social type of player, they're the powergamers and honestly, they don't want to roleplay or chat or anything like that.Most of my hair customers are social players and really friendly. So while I canend up filling the 2.5 minute timer with chatchat, Ialmost always look at an empty screen with a migration customer.

Erm, except that they already did. [See JustG's post on the expectation of the ID Stat Migration announcement]

It was a conscious effort to empower Image Designers. But *shrug* k-evah.

Over all, this seems more a complaint with Stat Migration than the Salons.

I understand why Stat Migration is 10 minutes [to limit cheeze], so possibly a suggestion for some of the problems would be to raise the AFK logout to 15 minutes [so it's kinda longer than the stat migration timer]. Not too sure on a solution for the AFK SMs though [well beyond the obvious remove this functionality from ID], as an autoaccept if AFK is potentially bad [either ineffective or exploitive depending on how it handles the required payment field].

Of course, this is the first thing listed as afix but hey, it works for now

Lets not forget the fact we can't even stat migrate ourselves ^_^
