I hade had some difficulty when working on Zabracks, My character is a master ID, many Zabs have asked me to give them hair, and color it some bright color. After selecting the style ( one with hair on it) I can see the hair color selection pannel there, however it is darkend and I am unable to select a color. Is this a bug or am I just missing something?

you must create Hair in one ID session, and then change its color on a second session.

Yes the two sessions work, I can verify that for you as I have to do it on myself frequently as Durney is a Zabrak. And mostall of the Zabraks that I have IDed, I have had to use that method.
