Issues with beginning ID's and Ithorians
A beginning ID complained to me the other day that it was very hard to self-ID for xp because there was little to be done at the lower levels. I decided to investigate.
First of all, Ithorians do not have eye color. It's not customizable at char creation, and not customizable by an ID. Normally that produces a large bump in xp for ID's at ID2 because they then get 300xp per minute rather than 100xp per 30 seconds.
Along came the frogs so I found a good use for them in testing ID skills on an Ithorian. Here are my results.
Well, without going through the entire tree, we see the problem with xp (I'm not dealing at this point with the problem of not being able to offer desirable services at non-master since pretty much everyone has that problem). For all other races, you can do eye color at ID 2 and advance at 300 xp per minute, rather than 100 xp per 30 seconds. An Ithorian can only have cosmetic changes done until the ID is novice ID.
Now, imagine you're a starting out ID, and your Ithorian friend offers to help you, and it takes 50% longer to advance. Or you are an Ithorian and practicing on yourself is also taking 50% longer to advance.
This system needs some adjustment so Ithorians do not have a disadvantage as a species. (And the wookiee and mon-cal thing also needs to be fixed).

- Novice entertainer: Hairstyle, Hair color, Eyebrow color (cosmetic)
- ID1: no change
- ID2: no change
- ID3: no change
- ID4: eyebrow style (cosmetic)
- Novice ID: Lips (body)

Oh ew... I did not know that about Ithorians.
That definitely is worse than Wooks and Mon Cals who only need help through the first box.

Why is it that Ithorians don't have eye color? They have EYES after all. Is this an oversight on the part of the Devs or a deliberate slap at Ithorians?

I don't know, but I did create a character just last night for this and specifically checked for eye color, and it was not available at char creation (if it were available at char creation, but not to an ID, then it would be a simple bug.)
You can adjust eye size, shape, and angle, so the lack of color is bizarre. Maybe we should treat that as a bug.
