Have you wanted to change your look to take advantage of the new MID-only skin/eye/patten/hair color palette, but is not satisfied on having an ID make the decision for you? If you have this concern, then now is the best time to log on to the test center server and create your very own ID!

Create a new character with the same gender/race of your main character, on the TC2 server. Then use the character builder, level your new TC character to MID status.

Hop over to the closest Salon tent and start tweaking your customization settings to your heart's content. Once you are satisfied with your new look, then take screen shots of (or write down) the new settings (remember there are several pages worth of settings). For color palette, record the column and row. For slider, record how many clicks from the min/max.

Return to your main character and find a local MID who can follow direction. Then read back the settings you have recorded from TC2 to the MID to implement the changes.

Congradulation! You have just made sure your character looks EXACTLY the way you want him/her to look.

I think this is a really good option for people who are picky about their looks and don't want to spend two hours with the Master Image Designer on their server....and for the MIDs who don't want to spend two hours on one client! /grin

Awesome thinking. I hope this was posted in Testcenter's forums. Maybe we should post it in the forums for every server there is, just to make sure people notice it.

This might be a dumb question. Where do I find TC2 or is it named something else cause I can't find it.

Yeah, this is very fun for the ID too. We love being automated ID terminals this way, it's what we live for.

A little info on this toppic:

1.) How to reach the TC-Servers:

If you don't have done that allready you first need to create a Testcenter-instance of the game. This is done by clicking on the 'Testcenter'-button down at the launchpad and defining a directory to install the TC-instance of SWG. It's a complete copy of the game with all data that will get patched with the data of the TC-servers. It's like having a 2nd SWG on your computer (eats alot of discspace, too). Then you need to use the SWG-test-launchpad-icon to get on the TC-server.

2.) The Testcenter cluster(s):

The Testcenter clusters are a bit different from what the majority of players might expect. The actual Testcenter server (TC or TC prime) is more or less a regular server where you actually play the game by the same rules like on every other server. (No Forg-terminals, no shortcuts, no free giveaways, no-auto-masters) The only difference is that you can create up to 3 different characters on the same server.

The devs sometimes need to focus their testings on some specific toppics. For that they sometimes create a second instance or cluster, that is usually a copy of one of the live servers. There they might offer special gifts or even place those famed frog-terminals to build up your characters and get items or resources. This is currently done with 2 special cluster: TC-Bria and TC-Ahazia.

Those servers are usually whiped on a regular basis and aren't up very long. So don't expect to play there and keep what you have created. It's only temporal!

At the moment I'm not even sure if or how long TC-Bria and TC-Ahazia will be up. They are ment to test new hardware for JTL and to improve the gameplay overall. Since the new harware is allready being integreated into the live servers step by step they might drop those Free-for-all-servers soon...

But as long as they stay up: Go there andtest out whatever you wanted to try out! That's what the devs want you todo there to see if there new hardware can keep up with it

*sigh*

I went to TC Ahazi to see how close I could get to my dream character.

I came up with two options:

  1. Master Entertainer, Master ID, Master Musician, 4/3/4/0 Dancer with 1 skill credit left over -or-

  2. 4/4/4/4 Entertainer, Master ID, Master Musician, 4/4/4/1 Dancer

I really want the Mandoviol, but hate having orphaned skill credits.

It all depends on your image designer, though. I always *hate* it when someone tells me exactly what to do. Being told what buttons to press is not really playing the game and since I don't really need the money it is not something that I would like to do. Others may have no problem with it, though.

So do I. I play an ID for the creative opportunities, and because I'm really good at making attractive 'toons. I'm not saying that each individual player doesn't have that same ability... and I don't mind a bit when someone comes and knows what they want changed, or if they want a specific hairstyle/eye color/skintone. But when someone says "okay, skintone should be third row, sixth box from the left.. eye color is eighth row down, second box from the right... hairstyle is next to last one, color should be fourth row from the bottom, first box..." that makes me nothing more than a bot, and it's not fun. I like being allowed to do my job.

I was Stormkraken's ID who did this for him on Radiant and it made my job so much easier. I like this type of idea, but dont shun it. You will still get your "surprise" me " customers every now and then. I have even had this from some of my guildmates who know a bunch about ID already...they just enjoy seeing someone else's perspective on their toon at times.

I think this wold be a good opportunity for players who have never been Tailor before as well. They will be able to see just what colors clothes and jewelrycan beas high up as Master tailor. Then they can take this new found knowledge back to their usual serverand make buying clothes go alot smoother for them and their tailor. I really feel bad telling my customer "sorry the exotic leotard cannot be orange Im afraid"
