What to do when you're bored....
- Get pois
- Run accross the planet map on foor killing anythignthat moves
- map out the warren
- become an artisan and ge lost trying to keep track of surveys and shifting resources
- gamble in the hotels
- do npc quests
- do the Hero of Tatooine quest (4 long quests)
- start a new character on another server
- change professions
When I get bummed out I switch to another server and make a new type of character.
If that doesn't work... then it's time to take a break from the game it self.

I'm going to have to second Erann's last statement. I find that every so often, I just get tired of the game. Starting something new just feels tedious, so I take a break from the game entirely. A good week or so away from stat migrations, immature players, and anything else irritating is just what you need sometimes. Call it a vacation, although I like to disappear withouta trace and say I was on a secret hair styling mission for the Empire, or some other silly excuse.

Take a break for awhile, like a week or two. Just enough to get yourself motivated again.
For a good laugh, go read the smuggler forums. They are jadded!

Well, this should be a lesson to you for not going with a monthly subscription.
It sounds like you need to accept your financial loss and move forward. If the game has lost your interest then it's lost your interest.
I find that going around with a differn't guild memeber makes them feel special since I'm thier mayor and they get a sence of importance to try to keep me alive. but then .. I'm not one to get all riled up when I die. I love galaxies I love the world I love the thousands of individual players, I love the lanscapes and the freedom to do what I want to do when I want to, I love the customization and the player driven economies.
The only disapointments I have with galaxies is the instantaneous travel from planet to planet I cannot begin to rant over my first starport experiance of waiting 10 mins only to be instantly teleported to the destination- andthe lack of a Full pvp dedicated Role play server. Some of the ingame weaponsshould bearea effect "spells" (reverting to a dnd style of thinking) that should dammage everyone in the blast range. Stray shots should hurt.. and standing under the shuttle and space ship should get you crushed. But.. I understand Sony wants to build a play nice world where the only harrasment that can get you down is emotes.

Neige- that's why I said to take a break from the game altogether. I didn't say quit, just take a break from logging in at all for a week or two. Play another game (preferably not another MMORPG... you're taking a break from quests and grinding, remember?). Last time I got bored with this, I ended up playing Unreal Tournament for a week and a half. I'm no good at it, but the instant action was a nice break from slow, grinding gameplay. If that's not your thing, take a break from games altogether. Read, draw, even watch TV... just like anything else, after a while you just need to get away from it just to give yourself a little variety in your daily life. So, get off these boards and have some fun

I totally agree with the recommendation made about taking a break for the game entirely.
A have done this a couple of times with different MMORPGs and that does help - sometimes. You might also realize when you get back that you were _really_ bored with the game and there is no point in going on.
My break from SWG ended up being about 8 months. I got back a few weeks ago and I am enjoying it a lot now. I like playing at least one old character as well as an entirely new one (which is working on the ID part), since I did not want to drop my master ranger/CH.

The following is Ciroccos NO FAIL guide on how to revive your love of SWG!!!
1. Go to Barnes and Noble
2. Go to the Sci-Fi/Fantasy section.
1. Go to Barnes and Noble
2. Go to the Sci-Fi/Fantasy section.
3. Examine StarWars Novels and find one that appeals to you. I HIGHLY recommend ANYTHING by Timothy Zahn.
4. Buy the book.
5. Read the Book.
6. Halfway through find yourself multitasking watching themovies WHILE reading the book, with no idea when you put the movies in or how long they've been playing.
7. Find yourself on a total SW addiction you can't satisfy.
8. Be overjoyed to find your delight in SWG has returned full force. ^_^
NOTE: Yes, this very thing has happened to me... More than once.... And yes it is kind of pathetic...

Oh yes, there are alot of really great Star Wars novels. T. Zahns books are a good recomendation. Another one that I really love is from Miceal Stackpole. I think the engish/US-title is "I,Jedi"
A book I can especially recommend for those that don't have an idea about what it meas being a Jedi.
