Thread: Do you think this would work?

Since we can't put any Image Design items on vendors, how about we get a bunch of a really cheap item, like maybe the ten sided dice, then put it on the vendor with a description saying something like "Present this item to this person to receive a full body makeover" or something like that. Then when they buy it they can send you a tell and make an appointment with you, give you the item to prove they bought it, and you can return it to the vendor. Just a thought while I waste my afternoon hours at work.

Or better yet, start an Image Designer network, andthat ticket would be good for any Image Designer who's part of the network. Although this way would require a siginificant amount of coordination and cooperation but the other Image Designers I've met seem pretty trustworthy.

Hm. Interesting idea. But then it should be the person who it gets presented to should be paid the amount it cost by the person who sold it. Or about half or somesuch. To make it easier, it can be named "Full-Body Makeover ticket by suchandsuch", etc.

I had mentioned an idea like thisa few weeks ago here, wanting to turn the home Lehiera and I share into our salon. So I got my merchanting skills up, set up a vendor, made my dice, and let it roll. After almost 2 weeks, I finally got my first sale. I found that it was more hassle than it was worth, and I have since cancelled my token experiment.

The big positive is that you do get an immediate notification that there is someone wanting your services (a la bat-signal). But I still get more referral business, and business from turning on my master ID sign for 2 minutes in a cantina, than I know what to do with. =)

As someone discussed in the thread I started on this idea, reputation is a big factor in this, as the person is essentially paying in advance for something they are told they will get... no secure trade here. Fortunately for me, I was one of the (if not the) first Master IDs on Flurry, and I have a very strong reputation.. so that wasnt an issue for me.

Another thing to consider is a cheap token system... which would not pay for the services in full, but instead be a reservation system. You get the same, galaxy-wide bat-signal notification the instant someone buys a reservation, and can contact them, set a price according to their needs, and arrange a meeting.

Just my thoughts... to be taken with a grain of Tatooine salt.

I have a vendor called "Kweestyle Beauty Salon" that has five bangles for sale, all 50,000 credits so noone will buy them. The first is called "Read me" and tells people to email Kwee for an appt, to look at swg.warcry.com for hairstyles, and to see the bangles below for details on modifications available and pricing. The other bangles are called "Hairstyling", "Body makeovers", "Face makeovers" and "Tattooing". I've had customers tell me they found that all helpful to look at. My house double as a salon (in the basement) and a tailor shop, so I get ID customers out of those coming to look for clothes, and vice versa.
