I was walking along last night and having just ended my playing session was thinking about the days work on SWG. Killing stuff shooting people, the usual when suddenly out of nowhere the thought of image designers hit me. There's a quiet profession I thought to myself it's an easy grind, costs nothing and has very few useful skills. I'm one of those people who feels that for some reason it's their duty to at least attempt to fix the devs errors/gaps. So I thought well to make the profession worthwhile obviously something must be done that encourages them to interact with players in a non-grinding situation. I'm not an image designer but I have many friends who at one point decided to grind image design. I tought the the trick of find a novice scout and offer him a way to get a really lot of camping xp. This made grinding easy and they were soon bored of it once they had gotten their master entertainer. My charecter on valcyn has never interacted with a ID and has never felt the urge to talk to one though he has seen many of their titles floating around. I'm happy with how I look and see no point in changing. So There must be something the IDs can do for me the charecter creation cannot. But then I thought no doubt someone has thought of this and asked for mohawks and purple hair and they were denied in accordance with the Starwarsy Feel issue (after a bit of reasearch this theory proved true). So I figured well then a compremise between fun and SWsy feel must be met. The thought came to me it being christmas and all (no offence to non-christans) that there could be things that were in acordance with the aproching event. An example might be a skill for master ID wich would allow them to give humans green and red hair or Twi'Leks candy-cane stile lekku. These things would last for December and January then booth the skill and the effects go poof and the defaults restored. This would be something that could be done for other things like thanksgiving and easter too. I think it would be a fairly easy thing for the devs to accomplish since it would simply be a quick color change and it would be a very interesting twist for the ID profession

Any idea that you can get in front of the developers would be appreciated,,we try ,,not much success

On a side note, you might truly be happy with your appearance but I would guess that there are several ways to improve your character's appearance. Very rarely do I see a new player make choices at creation that once they understand how the effect can be improved wont opt for a change,

Examples are minimum weight,,almost everyone chooses minimum weight and nearly all accept up to 25% weight. Bust on female humans are almost always maxed and for the vast majority look better at 75%.

When you created your character if you are human you didnt have access to all the hair styles and perhaps your hair color or facial hair choice might be changed to better fit your character's image.

Height is another option that usually is maxed and seldom needs to be at 100%.

If you find an experienced Image Designer on your server,,have them provide a free evaluation, I would think there is something that could be done to improve your appearance, if not , you are extremely rare and took great care in making your choices at creation, which few actually do.

Guess i'm one of those few My charecter is months old and i've never had a problem with his appearance and any change would compleatly ruin his image everything from the color of his fur (Wite+black wookies look like idiots) to the color of his eyes (secret for various reasons) to the amount of muscle he has is perfectly customised tio match the charecter, his job, and his past...(something too dark to utter on a forum full of quainter stomacs).

Have you considered sending e-mails to the devs of well thought out thoughts refined on the board. I ofter doubt the devs read the posts on the forums even those on the dev controled ones (post here and prove me wrong I will humbly appologise and back down ). If u bombard them with every means of communication the surely they will at least think about it for a few minutes.

We can do mohawks for some races, but I'm afraid not wookies.

Much info has been sent, many times over. Lists of ideas and changes, simple and outrageous. What we need is a few responses to work with, let us know what is possible and what is right out the window.

Ive already got my Naughty Santas Little Helper suit...and I think we can make Twiks look pretty candy cane like already
