I just posted this for Entertainer Quest in the "in devlopment forum

For factionEntertainer Quest I would love to see Entertainers lure guards from a door so other in your group can sneak pass.

Also maybe with each flourish you see a number float above the NPC's head, +10 if he liked it, -10 if it bored him andwith the right combo of flourishes you will get +100 and team mates can pass safely. If you do no flourishes you will see 0 number float above the NPC's head.

And now I'm wondering if something like this could be used for ID quest? For example Let's say the NPC has a hieght 20, but unknown to you he wants to be 33. you offer 10 and get (-10), then offer 30 and get (+15). If there was some way to ask him questions that would be great.

They could program in dialogue pretty easily…using your height example: NPC says "Make me taller." You offer +10 height *rejected* "A smidge more." You offer +15. *rejected* "No, more." You offer max. *accepted* "Perfect! Now my hair." It could be exactly like a real ID session. (Cynical? Me? Naw.)

I think it would be cool if the NPCs gave you clues to what they want

my friend is a wookiee and keeps making fun of my height.

biwan:My mother told to getmyhair cut short

For non-slider stuff like hairstyle and colors that would be great, and the only way I could think to do it. For slider stuff like height and weight I still like the floating numbers.

Improved Example:

NPC has a height 20, but unknown to you he wants to be 33

Offer/ Results

  • 19/ -01*rejected*

  • 21 / +01 *rejected*

  • 30/ +10 *rejected*

  • 40 / +06 *rejected*

  • 31/ +11 *rejected*

  • 32/ +12*rejected*

  • 35/ +11 *rejected*

  • 34/ +12 *rejected*

  • 33/ +13 *accepted*

I see an easy way for Image Designers to have missions. The following will work for Rebel/Imperial/Neutral.

Go to the Entertainer Mission Terminal. You get a waypoint to meet up with Mr. X, who needs to have his looks changed. Mr. X is a spy/courier/smuggler on a covert mission for the Alliance/Empire/Jabba so that the Empire/Alliance/Borvo's thugs won't recognize him and kill him for carrying stolen plans/list of informants/hardcore Jawa p0rn. You would be given a set of requirements for changing Mr. X's appearance, upon completion, you get your reward.

How would everyone feel if (as an XP gain issue FIX) each skill box required the current XP& the completion of one mission/quest?

So I'm suggesting they make 16-18 missions using the above ideas in this thread, to make one mission for each box, starting at novice IDer. Maybe have the missions for each tree on a different planet?

I think it would be a reasonable request and a good fix for the ID XP gain issue.

As far as XP gain goes, make ID'ing another person give about what ID'ing self does now, and ID'ing self give even less 0.o

I'm going to be really unpopular for saying this (again) but here goes. Is it easy to achieve the master ID skillbox? Sure. But so what? How many of you have had a hologrinder who got ID and decided to do their own "work" as a customer? How many of you have fixed grinders' "work"? Do you honestly think that being able to migrate stats and chug some booze makes you a master? You all know as well as I do that it doesn't. I say let them grind through as fast as they want. You won't find people dropping Bounty Hunter to grind through ID just to change their skin color. And if someone really is crazy enough to do that, more power to them—they'll just end up at my doorstep begging me to fix their face, since it "doesn't look right."

As I said before, until ID has something to make it a truly desirable profession for reasons other than pure, unreasoning love of it, and until ID is more useful at lower levels there is absolutely no reason to even talk about skillgain. We can't expect making it harder to "master" to earn us respect—we still won't be able to solo the Geonosian labs. And we can't do budding IDs the disservice of locking them in a state of surrogate chargen forever simply because grinder brag posts annoy us. The journey has to be worthwhile before we can lengthen it.
