Thread: POLL: What kind of Alternative for the Salons (aka Prisons of style) would you prefer?
But seriously. Not everyone lives in a player city, but EVERYONE can buy a house and place it and decorate it as their own personal version of a salon. That spells "terminal" to me.

If we get a droid at all... it MUST have full functionality or it would be worthless. There would be absolutely no point to such a droid... especially after the timer reduction we got.
Look at it this way:
- Droid reduces the time a session takes to 30 seconds/1 minute (or no time at all for a Master)
- ID Session takes 5 minutes (or longer)to get everything exactly the way the customer wants.
I recently did an ID session on a Zabrak customer ands because of the Zabrak hair bug, actually had to do 2 sessoins in order for him to be able to see the color on his new hair. In EACH session, the timer ran out before we were done with the changes made... and the first session was just CHOOSING a hair/horn style.
Basically, ANYTHING we get MUST have FULL FUNCTIONALITY or it would be both pointless and useless. Buying an ID droid that did not have full functionality would be a waste of credits. Better NO droid than one that does not have full functionality.
I cannot stress this enough: Timers are a NON-ISSUE unless you are GRINDING... and a NoviceID who is grinding will be doing Stat Migrations as much as possible.

Now that I do say is the best droid idea for ID. Fully functioning imaging droids just would put a big stop to ID in player cities and they have already tried to nullify PCities enough. Lets not give them reason to do so further.
Heh... NOW you're talking... at least a droid like that would be used by some. Even if I wouldn't use a Spam Droid under any circumstances myself. 
The ability to use Entertainer Droids would be cool though.
I don't really care one way or the other whether we get droids or not. As you say, fully functional droids would lead to increased starport congetion... I just do NOT want a useless droid... so if we don't want droids to have full functionality... then we should not have droids at all.
But if you're going to talk about what a poor image designer really NEEDS in this harsh galaxy is some serious protection - I want my pink droideka to come equipped not only with dancing jawas, salon music, barker functionality and the like, but also the double-barreled Blowdryer of Death and an arsenal of lipstick missiles that dealt damage on a scale that gave "body alteration" a whole new meaning. The war is upon us, and lacking any combat skills myself I want my droid to be able to do some wicked hostile makeovers!
