That sort of throws out the idea that they were giving humans a 'body paint'

If it's just 256 shades of natural then it's not really that exciting.

My thoughts exactly, and I'm a little disappointed about this. I find it difficult to believe that they think pink wookiees are 'immersive' but humans and zabraks can never, EVER be blue or green or purple. This shoots my dream of roleplaying a half-breed (half twi'lek, half human) right out the window. Sigh.

I'm pretty sure that if a human and a twi'lek had a child, it would be grossly deformed.

What makes you so sure?

They have half-breeds in Star Trek. Why not here?

Actually, instead of a Bluish Chiss, my own character was a different sort of Zabrak Half Breed, in this case, her father was a Zeltron. For those of you unfamiliar with the old Marvel Comic, or Zeltrons, they're a pink, red and maroon skinned race with purple hair. I'm actually pretty disappointed too in the whole Zabrak getting 200 shades of flesh tone.

How hard could it have been? Despite the objections of those that wouldn't want to have seen all sorts of differently coloured people, were it possible or convenient in RL today, I have no doubt that body makeup would be in every drug store in the world. In transscripts of lots of different Star Wars RPG roleplays, I've certainly seen DNA reactive drugs and therapies that caused a refractive shift in melanin content for new and interesting colours.

Well... I supppose that until the objections of those that were really looking forward to interesting colours for the more humanoid looking races are taken seriously by the dev's, I'll just have to get Rookery's hair done Zeltron Purple and keep on hoping for Red.

For more information on Zeltons, you might try having a look at this URL. It was a 5 part mini-documentary released by Wizards of the Coast for the current d20 game:

My pardon Kwee for more negativity. After a long time hoping I could use an image designer's talents to express my character's backstory, it's quite difficult containing my disappointment.
